There's more info on this guy at PFT:

ProFootballTalk.com - Stock Rising For Andre Brown

Speedy North Carolina State running back Andre Brown is scheduled to visit the San Diego Chargers, Tennessee Titans, San Francisco 49ers, Houston Texans, New England Patriots and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

He has also conducted a private workout with the Patriots.

The 6?0, 224-pounder registered a hand-timed 4.37 seconds in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine with an official time of 4.47.

My favorite day two RB in the draft...and possibly the one that makes the most sense for New England. Solid fourth-round candidate.

Definately someone to keep an eye on. We have to use pick 97. Why not on
a boom or bust type. He's got the talent. Can he stay healthy?

I like this one. I posted a week ago that he is the only back that I view with alot of upside. Bown could very well become the best of all backs in this draft within 3 seasons. He has fought injury bug-but the right team -right system-they could see alot of yards.

Brown's head coach is Tom O'Brien, who served as head coach at Boston College for 10+ years. He and Belichick are longtime friends, which I'm sure will lead to some inside scoop on Andre.

Interesting side note: NFL Draft Scout usually ends their prospect profiles with an NFL comparison:
Compares To: FRED TAYLOR, New England

I think it's hilarious when draft sites compare second-day talent to borderline Hall of Famers.

I remember Sporting News or something had David Greene as "Compares to: Tom Brady." Yeah the David Greene who retired without ever having taken a snap in the regular season after 5 years in the league.

I'm not so easily offended by their comparisons, as my interpretation is that they're more about resemblance in size, style, etc. and certainly not a prediction of ability. If they were to compare a prospect to Faulk or Welker, and I haven't seen that player, I think I'd have a good visual of what he looks like, therefore making the comparisons purposeful -- in a grain of salt sort of way.

I went to the same high school as Brown, never had a class with him, but he contributed to the first two of our four consecutive state titles. Great back, just not the brightest guy around, but to his credit, he stayed out of trouble in his time here, which some guys managed to not do. It would be neat for the Pats to draft him, but I won't be broken up if they don't.
