McDaniels has been a personnel assistant and a film intern, basically. QB coach and OC are kind of specialists who deal with the playbook or one player.
Dealing with offensive personnel is more the job of assistant head coach Scharneccia, Ivan Fears and others.
They are position coaches, which is unlike being strictly a QB coach because you don't have a group dynamic.
I hope McDaniels sticks around because we've got a great future on offense having gone through a very tough year.
