When Deaderick was suspended, he didn't count toward the 53-man roster limit.

Is it possible for teams to stash players on the suspended list and just take them off when they want to? I'd imagine there needs to be a good reason to suspend a player, but it still made me wonder.

(A) A player can appeal a suspension.
(B) By definition, when a team suspends a player, it's without pay, so players are not going to agree to "take one for the team."
