Anyone think that we might use a day two pick on a punter. Daniel Sepulveda from Baylor is one of the best to come out in a while. Any thoughts????

The punter you mentioned is projected as a 4th or 5th round pick.

I think the Pats have too many other needs like linebacker, cornerback,

and safety to draft him this high. Maybe, if he drops to the 6th round?

You can never have enough punters. :singing:

I'd stick my hand in boiling oil if we took a punter before #247.

Before or after you're chewing on your hat?
I'm sure he's already chewing on his hat to soften it up for draft day, that and to expend some pre-draft anxiety.

Sepulveda was a walk on Linebacker before converting to Punter. He's also left-footed. I say we'll pick him.

When was the last time Brad Seeley went to a college to work out a Punter?

When was the last time that the Patriots invited a Punter in for a team visit?

Sepulveda is that good. But I suspect he will go a lot higher than many think. Remember Ray Guy went in the first round. Todd Sauerbrun went in the second round. Sepulveda has a rocket leg, he hold the NCAA all tiem record fro number of punts over 50 yards; punts left footed so the ball is more difficult to field; and was a LB as well, so he could add a little punt coverage ability as well.

Sepulveda is rated comparable to Guy and Sauerbrun ...

So you are saying he will go 1st day? Doubtful.
I'm thinking a 4th or 5th rounder would be about right where he goes.

Regardless of what round, before I took this kid, I would have a team of meidcal professionals examine and re-examine that knee he tore up. One legged punter don't last long in the NFL.

I refuse to believe any punter taken in the fourth round is that much of an upgrade over one in the sixth, seventh, or UDFA. There's a lot of well-regarded punters this year, one from Maryland....one from Syracuse....one from UMass....one from Auburn....one from Michigan St. There's really no way of telling who's going to be the best.

I've raised the same question. I think this is a position where we could upgrade thru the draft. That said, I'm in the minority on this one.
