Post Game Thread- Pats beat the Chiefs

In respect to our local chicken littles I'm going to eat a chicken salad sandwich for lunch tomorrow.

If I were to be true to my true feelings regarding the chicken littles I'd eat a chicken shyt salad sandwich but to be fair I've opted for the salad.

The offense is going to turn the ball over here and there. One turnover, the kick return. I want to see a defense that can overcome the inevitable mistake on the other side of the ball. Tonight they collapsed and failed to overcome it.

Offense also started slow with 3 points in 2 possessions which they obviously made up for but got a boost from the Hightower INT also

If the offense doesn't turn the ball over and ST doesnt **** the bed they would have held the Chiefs below 30. That is a good job.

There’s no way you can say that as a fact. If we kick it out of the endzone instead of giving up the long return, kc could’ve still gotten 7. KC could’ve very well been in the 30s.

The D did do a very good job in the first half. Not so much in the 2nd(a lot due to breakdowns at the S position). They lost track of the most explosive player on the field multiple times. I will say that they’ve gotten better over these last few weeks at covering rbs out of the backfield (even with hunts td) and did a good job on Kelce.

I answered this question on the first page of this thread. The defense played overall MEH. As did the offense.
43 points is not meh. That is a garbage take.

KC scored 21 points in a total possession time of about 90 seconds (a td on the k.o. return, one on the blown coverage and one on the Brady fumble). Two of them are fixable the 3rd was Brady waiting too long for Jules to free up. Either way, close game or blowout this was a BIG win for the Patriots.

Big win with massive playoff implications. I don't think KC goes undefeated the rest of the way. They will drop 1-2 more. This puts the Pats 4-2.

They are tied with the Bengals (lol), Miami (lol), Ravens and Chargers. I think the Ravens and Chargers could be good this year but IDK if they will be able to keep up.

Jags will bounce back at some point and have the tie breaker but they will drop a few more along the way. The fact they are 3-3 means we can keep them in our rear view mirror the rest of the way.

The Pats are in complete control of their destiny with one of their loses being out of the AFC.

BB postgame presser:

“Coach, their team speed was obviously a problem...”

“Well, Hill?”

“Yeah...”

“Hill.”
That’s gold... “Coach the other team has a guy who is basically The Flash” “Well, yeah. Sucks for us.”

Seriously do you understand the words "complimentary football" ? The HT pick directly gave our "offense" essentially 7 points. The two ST screw ups left the defense once in a GL situation and once at midfield. The Brady fumble gave KC the ball in FG range.

You are giving the offense all 43 points even if they were set up by a defensive play but at the same time don't consider the context for how the defense ended up giving up 40.

If mahomes makes a couple of easy throws it’s a blowout in the first quarter

If you want to play the what if game you have to play it both ways

Random thought. I don't want to look too far ahead but something came to mind. I don't see how the Pats beat KC again. In the 2nd half KC figured something out offensively.

The Pats simply don't have a solution for those deep crosses with Hill or when Hunt vertical with a LB. The Pats I think can solve Kelce but unless they can stop the other two they will have a lot of trouble. I don't know if they have a good solution for it.

On offense I think the Patriots can repeat this performance but if they don't figure out things on defense that next game will come down to who has the ball last. I don't think any fan feels comfortable with that.

Correct but least they're not starting with a short field. Lost track of how many times they started drives near midfield, and this is to say nothing of the huge return. If coverage unit's been brutal all game there's really no reason to keep trying to pin them back.

I would agree if not more than half of those was result of plays by the offense or ST that created very short fields.

My favorite part about the rise of Mahomes is, we don’t have to listen to the media talk about the “Goat” Rodgers anymore. I know Rodgers is “dealing with an injury” but at least we don’t have to hear about that excuse weekly also.

PatsFans posters have so much anxiety about Rodgers that he’s now showed up multiple times in the post game thread in a game where we played the Chiefs.
