Yes indeed - not the most erudite of bloggers, he also preceded that with "wouldn't expect to count ...Polian about those doubters" instead of among.
It was an interesting ramble though I think the blogger was making more excuses than Polian. Polian was putting the game in perspective and yes he was downplaying the importance because he wasn't expecting to win. But imagine the boost to confidence if they do, somewhat akin to our resurgent self-belief following Pittsburgh.
I think it is more a reflection of the fact that the Colts haven't found out the character of their 2010 team yet. They still have Manning/Wayne - they still have Freeney/Mathis but the supporting cast hasn't shown enough to establish an identity yet.
I did agree with one of the comment posters who pointed out the fallacy of the strength of the O'line, in that the strength lies not in the participants but in Manning's ability to read defenses and throw the ball away rather than take a sack. To a degree that is true, and Manning is very good at doing that. He did go a little too far by inferring that this accounted for Manning's incompletions, after all he is never ever inaccurate - lol.
This is a huge game this week. The way that the season has played out for every team in the winner of this game could get a high or low seed come playoff time.
Colts should be very competitive this Sunday. As long as they have both pass rushing ends, the QB and the O-line they will be a factor every season. It really doesn't matter who Peyton throws the ball too. They lose top offensive players all the time and never miss a beat.
Pats had better give this game a big effort because they don't get much rest before playing in Detroit.
