Average league rankings through four years each:

Crennel -- 15.75 (total defense), 6.5 (points allowed)
Pees -- 7.5 (total defense), 4.7 (points allowed)

Very interesting ...

The defense would have done even better had the offense performed to standard Brady proficiency.

My guess is BB probably wasn't satisfied with the teaching aspect for the development of the young players.

I don't think you are that far off with that statement. The D was making the same mistakes on Week 17 as they were on Week 2. Blown coverages, assignment mixups...
