The rebuild begins..

Looked it up because I didn’t remember any 7-9 seasons and I was right, this was their first. Weird stat.
Debunking the false narrative that the team was ever a "laughingstock".

Plenty of 7-9 seasons for the other franchises.

At least we get to watch tom brady in the playoffs again.
It is so weird to see him in another uniform even after a full regular season. It isn't weird to see him marching up and down the field and leading his team to the playoffs. It was one of those things for the last few years where as a fan I said "okay don't take Brady for granted he is getting up there." Even still it is weird to not roll out of bed to 12 wins and a playoff spot. It is even weirder to see the guy who made it possible leading a team that hasn't made it to the playoffs in 13 years to the playoffs with no real offseason, a completely new offense, a completely new supporting cast, and a complete idiot for a coach.

Arians may be an idiot, although that's probably a bit strong, but he did allow Brady the autonomy to taylor that suddenly very explosive Bucs offense to his preference. Arguably Brady just had the second best season of his extraordinary career.

I’d argue that.

Arians will be the downfall.

I can't imagine Brady would consider this to be the second best season of his career; I certainly hope not.

Since he became a starter there has only been one time he led his team to worse than this year's #5 seed, and that was 18 years ago.

Bb deserves an award for getting this roster to 7 and 9. An amazing job by bb this year.

he had next to nothing at qb, wr, te, dt, de and lb, yet still won 7 games!!!!!!
They beat the Jets twice so only 5 wins are worth even looking at. Miami is a young developing team who we caught early in the season and then lost to later on when they were short their 3 best players on offense. Buffalo is lapping the Patriots in talent at this point.

No doubt, Belichick messed up this season before it even started. The 7 wins aren't impressive and they don't mean anything anyway. He needs to have a much better off-season this time around.

this is the nfl, and no matter how you try to rationalize it, we finished the season with 7 wins. No one can take that away from us, ever.

and we did it with a roster that if we played in the ncaa, would not get into the bcs playoff.

We have a bottom 5 roster talent wise no question.

The Bucs haven't made the postseason since 2002; they only got there this season because of Brady. Plus Brady proved he could do something that Belichick failed miserably at... winning without the other year one. Brady also got to play for a head coach who treated him like an elite quarterback again. So yes, I think it's likely he considers this one of his better seasons.

You make it sound like they accomplished something. They didn't. They haven't had a record this bad in 20 years. Their offense was painful to watch. Newton is a disgrace to quarterback play. I'm just glad it's over if for no other reason then I don't have to hear how wonderful a guy he is. As though that's worth anything either.
