They may be under the mandatory number because they are going to wait until after the Jets game to bring anyone back. That way they do not have to guaruntee the salary of a player who may be on and off the squad multiple times over the course of the season (just a guess).

There's definitely something to be said for that thought.

Mild surprises: Justin Rodgers cut & Matt Gutierrez making the team.

That is the only thing I could think of, and the Seymoer not seeing him for six weeks.. 2 defensive studs not playing for 4-6 weeks hurts. I do wish we would have kept Justin Rodgers on the team somehow.. And I do think Vinny would be a better fit than Gutierrez.... The Moss rumors were just that rumors..

Why is Seymour hurt so much every year?

Because he has at least two 300+LB. men try to bury him on every play.
