Patriots sign WR Jordan Matthews to a 1 Year Deal

For the past 18years, Brady has made the offense better than it is. However, with Brady nearing the end, Bill is going to have to think about building a team sans Brady. The quality of the receivers he’s going to pick in the draft is going to matter now.

The #1 quality for a WR is to be where the QB needs him to be, on time, and to catch the ball. The #2 quality is to stay healthy and be available.

Those won't change, regardless who the QB is.

Anyway, it's not as if BB has tried real hard to draft WRs. As with RBs, he's been significantly more successful at acquiring WRs who already have NFL experience. I'm pretty sure that's going to change much, either.

IMHO, the only reason that Hogan isn't a lock is that he could be traded if all works out with enough other players.

That could apply to all of the WRs on the roster, aside from probably McCarron and Cody Hollister.

Anyway, as long as they didn't trade him back to Buffalo. That would be too cruel.

We are talking about Drafting a WR here one potentially in the First. Put those bifocals on ...you totally miss the point.

Glasses firmly on. PF. And why would there be any interest on a WR in the first round when EVERYTHING we know from the past TWO decades tells us that there is very little correlation between elite WR's and success in the NFL, ESPECIALLY when it comes to the Patriots pass offense

So given the above, WHY would drafting a WR in the first round even be a possibility?
