Just a quick poll to gauge what people think of our 2012 patriots squad. If you were to summarise the talent pool how would you describe it? Quality heavy, quantity heavy or just right.
You can make a case for all three, for example at receiver when you think of the talent you could lose a guy like Gronk and you'd have Hernandez et al to step in and match his production or if say Welker went down you could target his receptions in the direction of Lloyd and get almost as high production level.
On the flip side you could also say that the only reason we got to the SB last year was not because we had standouts in the backfield that broke up big plays and could be relied on but because we had just enough bodies to get us over the line. With all due respect an unknown player at the time stepped in at the most crucial point to disrupt a pass that would have put the Ravens through instead of the Pats.
Or you could say the consistency of this team that just wins nearly all the time, year after year means there is a good balance in the roster between top class players and those that do their jobs but don't excel.
