It’s ridiculous that they essentially killed the kickoff in May last year, after teams had built their rosters. They’re doing it again this year. We have no idea what the kickoff is going to look like and whether teams should plan for 20 returns per season or 50.

The reporting at the time it was revealed Wolf as the chief personnel guy was that Wolf would have control over the 53 man roster. So, it’s not Mayo’s call presumably. Either way Board’s release seems to indicate fewer STers only is the plan. We’ll know for sure if Cody Davis isn’t resigned.

Board wasn't a "special teams only" Player. He'd previously seen Defensive Snaps with both the Lions and Ravens. It's more likely that he wasn't picking up the defense so wasn't filling the role they needed him to fill as the Reserve LB..
