Patriots - Panthers MNF, Who Has The Razor's Edge

I'm surprised to find that you may have a point.

2013 NFL Team Rushing Stats

Panthers: 3.9 yards per carry (20th)
Patriots: 4.4 yards per carry (11th)

Of course Jonathan Stewart being healthy gives them an added dimension at RB, and helps keep the other running backs fresh.

well....consider how much of their running game is the QB, and that tell you something more.

they're not that good. they have had the benefit of a relatively easy schedule to pile up 5 wins in a row, but this is still a team that could not beat the bills or the cardinals.

take your pick the panthers, last year's bears, last year's texans.....get hot on the backs of the bottom of the league, then get flattened

the pats have been in this spot before and have fared very well

you do realize we picked of the Bills on there last second game winning drive attempt that should of sealed our win. Bills got lucky with a homefield call.

as for AZ....sometimes you lay an egg. Carolina did in the 2nd half. Carolina didn't help themselves early dropping wide open TDs, wide open 4th down conversations, etc. It happens. You might find one team every 5 years that doesn't lay an egg on an odd Sunday.

yes....yes.....it's always something

actually, what happened against the cardinals is that newton wet himself after he got hit a few times......no, wait, that happened against the bills, too

against the Bills....our coach opted not to convert on a 4th and 1 which would of sealed the win. Then we picked off the Bills and won......and then a bs homefield call game in. It happens.

AZ game. Cam torched AZ in the first half.....his WRs just dropped everything. It happens. 2nd half....we laid an egg. Again, show me a team who doesn't lay an egg in one half of football over a season.

We lost both. We lost both b/c we didn't make enough plays to win. There are reasons you lose and reasons you win.

yes.....the 2 FG's in the 1st half is certainly a 'torching' when you're talking newton

somehow the drops mean something for newton, but when it's the pats rookies leading the league in drops over the 1st half of the season, it's TFB getting old

I'm bored........you have completely failed to produce a valid argument from any angle. Color me unconvinced

Toss the stats out boys and girls. It's the 2nd half of the regular season which means the Pats are in playoff mode .... a mode which has shown them to be almost unbeatable the last few years.

Pats have the Razor's edge just because they own this time of the regular season.

Exactly, they are 41-7 in the second half the last 6 years.

23-1 in the last 3.

Haven't read any of the Pats/Panthers threads so my game plan for the NE offense may have already come up in discussion:

NE will go to a spread offense and go no huddle until it fails. Catch Carolina in a bad match up and use hurry up to keep them from substituting. With NE's arsenal almost fully intact (Vereen?)....and two weeks to get the hurry up fine tuned, I think the time has come for BB/Brady to use their strengths....Brady's arm/brain. And once Carolina over compensates to defend pass....play action until it hurts.

I hated when the Pats have a MNF game after a bye week. That means we have to wait an extra day to see the game. Stupid scheduling!

Good point. If Vereen is ready to play then it would be the first time all season that Gronkowski, Amendola and Vereen would be together on the field. As we have seen this year, the offense is much better with even just two of them healthy, but that has rarely happened: the first half of week one, and last week against Pittsburgh.

fine by me. I consider this one of the weakest NE teams I can recall in a LONG time (and I am sure most of you do as well)

We play Atl all the time. They don't suck this year b/c of there WRs being out they suck b/c both their lines are weak.

not at all....The pats are ahead of where they were last year, and they did it while rebuilding their passing game which now the strongest deep threat since 2007

the reality is that nobody knows how good the panthers defense is because they haven't played a decent offense

and the panthers offense is pretty much a joke...I mean how do you draft a QB #1 and in the 3rd year still scheme around his deficiencies?
