Given the offseason contract contention and Butler not being under contract next year, I'm not that surprised Butler isn't one.

Does anyone know what extra responsibilities or privileges captains get? Like do they get to pick the cake when it is somebody's birthday? Or maybe get to use the shower first?

I want to point out a guy I am surprised to not see as a captain yet is Patrick Chung. He is now one of the longest tendered Patriots. I wonder why Harmon over him. Not that is matters a ton. Maybe he lacks great leadership but odd to not see the D man with the most time in here besides McCourty as not a captain.

Edelman you would think would have been a captain over Andrews if he was here and healthy. If not that would have surprised me. Such an emotional leader and motivator for this team.
