Our O-Line is the Key to Our Success this Postseason

I've come to this conclusion. We need our Oline to be dominant in order to win it all. If they play physical, even dominant at times, we will win it all.

In USA Today (today), Theisman says that's our Achilles heel, and says the Chargers have the best O-Line in football. I hope to prove him wrong.

The Chargers offensive line is incredible. Seriously.

I dont see why people think our offensive line is that bad. Some guys have bad games but overall nobody can complain about how bad this unit has been overall.

Outside of Chicago, Minnesota, Green Bay what has the OL done? The run blocking has been terrible since O'Callaghan's been out. The pass blocking has stunk all season.

I don't know about winning it all, but...In order for TB to connect with these particular WRs, the OL must protect him for at least 4 seconds/pass attempt. The OL must also sustain their blocks long enough for the RBs to make the first tackler miss. They must also avoid stupid false-start penalties. That's a lot on their collective plate, but I strongly believe that the success, or failure, of the OL will determine how many playoff games we win.

How can the line not be credited for that when last year we weren't even in the top 15.

Pass blocking has been adequate. The Patriots are 10th in the league in sacks allowed with 29.

Could not agree more, Brady 24 TD passes 4th in the league, none of these stats are because an individual player, but because of a team. There have been some breakdowns, but overall we have done well in the trenches on both sides of the ball. I find the criticism of a specific aspect of this team or criticism of a player for the most part ill founded and in defiance of how this team is constructed and how this team wins ball games.

The tackles have been up and down this year due to injuries and matchup problems, and Koppen seems to land on his ass once or twice a game, but we've got solid guards and we're deep, deeper than we've ever been at this stage of the season.

Apart from the Chargers, with absolute studs on the tackles in McNeill and Olivea and a sturdy interior lead by Goff, I can't think of an O-line I'd be more comfortable with. KC is a terrific drive blocking outfit but even without much pass rush Trent Green always seems to get grass stains on his jersey. Baltimore can't run block, or Lewis can't run, or maybe both. The Colts O-line does everything acceptably but that's only because it would take 13 defenders to fully stop the whole offense.

This team has won with much, much worse in the trenches.
