You're straying away from your original point in an attempt to try to downgrade Moss. Your original point was that Moss may have some pushback on getting into the Hall because of various character issues. L.T. had that many character issues and then some, for example.

As for the decade of dominance argument, from 1998-2008, Moss hauled in 13,201 receiving yards (1,320 per year for those playing at home) with 135 TD's. His worst statistical year was in 2006 when he went for 553 yards and 3 TD's playing with one of the worst teams and offenses in the NFL and dealing with various injuries.

And I'm not sure how he "fell back to the pack" in 2008 and 2009. He hauled in 152 receptions for 2,272 yards and 24 TD's in those two years.

No, I'm not but you're choosing to try and portray it that way. Moss was consistently dominant for his first 6 years (21-26) but then he was much less than dominant for 6 of his next 7 and created the what if question regarding what he might have been. He had a season for the ages with Brady in 2007, his last pro bowl or all pro season, but after that with Cassel and Brady he was good but not great and increasingly problematic which is why he was gone again by 2010. The down years were always a matter of bruised ego (aka attitude) trumping natural talent. He forced his way into a situation in Oakland that was less than ideal because he wanted more money. Then he sulked. He forced his way out of here for the same reason, and fell flat on his face. LT had character issues off the field but they never carried over onto the field effecting his performance. He played for 13 years and was dominant for a decade straight before age simply caught up to him. Moss played for 13 years and was dominant in half of them and troubled of his own volition to one extent or another much of the rest of the time. Otherwise he might be in the same league as Jerry Rice who was a pro bowler in 12 of his first 13 years as a starter and an all pro 10 times. Not to mention still a productive WR in Oakland at 39-40...

Moss will get in, just may not get in on his first ballot because while HOF voters admire his talent and acknowledge he had his moments at least some also question his body of work for reasons he gave them to.
