OT: The Chiefs had "Super Bowl fatigue"

I had a Cowboys fan tell me the Lions were a better team than the Eagles this year. I was like not even close.
I think a healthy Lions team vs Eagles in the NFCCG would have been an all-time classic, I think both were the class of the NFL this year, but the Lions couldn't stay healthy, and that gave the Eagles a free ride. I think the Commanders were a nice story, but the Eagles were vastly superior.

Yep. The slide started vs Philly on Sunday night.

Weeks 1-10- 41ppg
Weeks 11- SB- 27ppg

Teams started playing a ton of dime vs and dared us to run and throw to Welker. Moss was taken out of the offense. His stats during those same periods tell that story.
The Ravens Monday night game too.

I think folks are underrating the Eagles and their offensive line. The Tush Push / Brotherly Shove that everyone is *****ing about is about physical dominance. That play is basically automatic on short yardage. It's changing the game with their size and strength

IMO, Eagles line is as good as we've seen since the 90's Cowboys.
Yep. Those 90s Dallas lines....Sheesh.

Assuming there is competent play at QB, football games will always be won by controlling the LoS.

It's always a f-ing rock fight with the Ratbirds.

Point is the slide started vs Philly and freaking Monte Kiffin's D.

A great O line, Great QB and a top defense wins championships.

I’m on the fence on this one. On one hand, anyone can do it if they commit to drafting/acquiring a fleet of big and powerful OL, a QB who can run with power, and they coach it and execute it well. On the other hand, pushing the ball carrier from behind used to be viewed as illegal and then somewhere along the way it just sort of became fine. That second part is what confuses me.

lol yeah I’m sure. “They didn’t really beat us this bad, we were just like… really tired… you know, from last year’s Super Bowl… and the one before that!”
TBF, Belichick did phrase this a bit more charitably. Their offseason is 5 weeks shorter than the 18 teams that missed the playoffs.

Playing within the rules used to be something that we folks around Foxboro used to really crow about. I can't fault them. It's not as sexy as the Greatest Show on Turf, but these guys would roll a finesse team like that. I think we really don't appreciate them here because their the Eagles, but all year they were consistently good. Not as much fun as rooting for the ever maligned Lions, or the rookie QB led Commanders, but they are just...

In 2022, they rolled the NYGs and the 49ers before losing to the Chiefs. This year, they went thru the Redskins Commanders like melted butter and then ***** slapped the Chiefs, much to everyone's delight. I don't think we should be discounting them because we don't like the Philadelphia Eagles. Added Saquon like the Pats added Corey Dillon and then went out and won the whole thing. I tip my cap to 'em. I think they'd beat a lot of Super Bowl winners in dominant fashion. They are eff'n good.

I think for fatigue read fear. The Chiefs were in reality an 11-6 team who somehow ended up in the Big Dance. No wonder they were afraid of the Eagles. A shame they didn't lose by 50.
FTFY

After Sequans backwards hurdle I kind of figured it was their year but I didn't fully buy in because I had already resigned myself to the 3peat.

We really need another team in the AFC to boot KC from the playoffs. Baltimore seems like the next in line, but Cincinnati is KC's kryptonite if they can improve the defense. Buffalo has had multiple chances, but McDermott flat out refuses to address his weak defense. They need an outside threat at WR. They will never win with that guy as their go to WR who's names sounds like Shakira.

I think history is going to look at them very favorably.

Pats are too far away right now. But with some upgrades on offense, defense and Maye being the real deal, it could happen in time.

I also think Jaylon Hurts is consistently underrated. He has icewater in his veins, strong as an ox and is surprisingly an accurate passer.
He does not care about stats and just wants to win.
I do not understand why vegas foes not have them as favorites for 26

Eagles are obviously a good team

14-3, #7/8 offense, #2/1 defense.

2/3 losses came in first 4 weeks of the season. 1 loss was by 1 point, 1 loss was by 3 points to division rival that made playoffs.

Their only bad loss was to Bucs, who were a 10-7 team.

Super Bowl fatigue? Nah, Fam. They got their asses kicked by an Eagles team that was far more physical on both sides of the ball.

Chiefs got BULLIED by a superior team.

The Eagles D looked like the '85 Bears defense out there.

It's been so glorious - all the Brady love this past week. Watching the Chiefs get their doors blown off was delicious. Having Brady announcing it was the cherry on top. Even better is Nick Wright's tears.
I loved the episode where they TROLLED Nick Wright over and over again after the Chiefs loss. They threw a mock celebration for the 'chiefs win' and even had marching bands blowing music in his face. It was Epic!

Sure, but Philadelphia played in that same Super Bowl 3 years ago, and were in the NFCCG last year. So they have all of 2 extra weeks of rest across 3 years compared to the Chiefs. Not buying it as a reason for simply not showing up for the game and getting curb stomped.
