This has been an on-going issue for awhile. However, the question I have to ask is how many minority candidates are there that are worthy (in terms of experience and background) of consideration? And I ask because I honestly don't know.

The thing about it is that black candidates often get hired early. Sure, there's the Manginis. But Dungy, Edwards, Lovie, etc, were actually quite young when they were hired. There's many, many examples of white assistants who were totally qualified never getting a chance. The whole thing is stupid. The vast, vast majority of NFL owners want to win. Are there 1 or 2 who wouldn't hire a black HC ? Maybe. But most of them will hire the guy they think is most likely to win. Race be damned.
