Re: OT:Report: Millen out as Lions team president, GM
'bout frickin' time, you ask me.
It was very noble of Millen to say he doesn't quit until he gets the job done, but how much time do you need before you realize you don't know what the hell you're doing? If you're trying to build a house and the frame falls down every time a breeze blows through, maybe it's time to call a contractor.
Even worse is how long it took Ford to fire him. Don't get me wrong, I think a head coach should always get three years (unless he produces a record like Rich Kotite), but after that if there's no noticeable improvement, it's time to give someone else a shot. Yet Millen got seven? (I know he's a GM and not a head coach, but still.) Even Bob Kraft was smart enough to fire Bobby Grier. Really, has any other fan base ever wanted the GM out so bad they held a protest outside the stadium? (And had more than five people?)
Honestly I don't know which club is in worse shape, the Raiders or the Lions.
