Ravens Complete and Official Playbook (designed for Joe Flacco)

1. Deep Pass
Throw the ball to receiver down sideline and whine at the ref to throw a flag.

2. Dump Off Pass
Throw the ball to receiver way short of first down.

3. QB Run (***added for Lamar Jackson)
Keep the ball and run with it.
FIFY.

Don't forget their patented, throw the ball deep to receiver just short of him, so the defendant will run into him for a 15-yard penalty play

Harbaugh threw his equipment managers under the bus by saying, "they didn't know that the green dot rule applies in pre-season."

The rule has been on the books for a decade. The Ratbirds' DC and their LB coach aren't rookies.
That’s the dumbest thing I ever heard. What does he think this is, the Pro Bowl? All the on-field regular season rules apply in the preseason.

I can actually buy the notion that it was just a rookie who screwed up by either not knowing the rule or simply forgetting to take the right helmet in the heat of battle. But Harbozo is just insulting our intelligence here.

By "defendant", I presume you're referring specifically to a Pats DB.
Ha ha. That auto spell slipped by me.

I Guess "the defender running into the Defendant" would have been more appropriate.

Yeah, I get not wanting to throw your rookie QB under the bus, but a simple "Lamar ****ed up and accidentally used the wrong helmet" would be a pretty easy explanation that I don't think anyone would really second-guess. I can definitely see that happening. Instead, they went with... this, which means they're definitely being clearly deceptive

Although I haven't seen it specifically stated anywhere, I suspect the incident was on the defensive side - two LBs on the field wearing green-dot helmets at the same time. A little more difficult to do "accidentally" when there' only one QB on the field at a time.

Usually.

But I wouldn't put it past the Ratbirds to find a way to eff that up, too. After all, it often seems like they have zero QBs on the field.

The fact that the Ravens were only fined despite being a repeat offender under THIS EXACT SAME HEAD COACH shows just how pathetic the Commissioner's office truly is.

Did you see them? They are so darn smart they had two QB's on the field last week...

This off-season the league will be changing the rules to more closely match the Ravens understanding of said rule.
