HOLY ****!!!! Don't think I've ever seen a pile like THAT!!!!!!!!!

weswelker83, we need one of those nifty screen shots of yours!!!!!!!

Atlanta recovers the onside kick!!!!

EDIT: And Darren Sharper intercepts. Man, that was an awesome end to a game!!!

My thinking on the Pats vs Saints is this:

If we have ANY hope for a Super Bowl appearance this year, we must win that game. Brady MUST be able to go into a shootout against Brees and win. For his confidence, for the team's confidence and for any realistic shot of making it deep into the playoffs, they must have their act together by this game and be able to prove it to themselves (think of Giants vs Pats week 16 in 2007 - it gave the Giants the confidence to know they could hang, even though they narrowly lost). This is the swagger game. This is the Cowboys vs Patriots 2007 game. This is the defending 16-0 game. It is HUGE.

The Colts and Pats have each other's numbers in such a way that you never know if it's going to be high-scoring or low-scoring, but you KNOW it will come down to the final 2:00. I'm not really worried about that game because of the familiarity and because I know we'll have a second shot in the playoffs. It's not a game where you go in with swagger, expect your ego to be a big factor. It's work. It's battle. It's chess. It has nothing to do with ego beyond "we know we can beat them".

Beating New Orleans will require swagger because it WILL be a shootout. And swagger is the last piece of the 2009 Patriots puzzle.

Pretty exciting finish... good game!

Wow Matt Ryan's arm is lousy. I never knew that he couldn't throw it 45 yards on a hail mary.

Great game. Lots of fun though

This game is a big Tease. Matt Ryan is a tad overrated. I think Flacco will be the next Brady or Manning

The more interesting part is it was David Thomas that couldn't hold on. The same guy that dove at the legs of the Saints center earlier taking him out of the game. Talk about a bad day. Lucky they win and it can all be forgotten.

i have seen him throw further. he got touched slightly

Sooo....

Saints get intercepted at least once, fumble what...3 or 4? times.

Falcons lost by 9 and leave more points than that behind with 2 missed FGs, and failure to get any points off an interception and two fumbles. Not to mention the BS holding call against the Falcons that pretty much sealed it for the Saints when the Falcs were about to probably take the lead.

Saints looking more vincible, and the Pats are better on both sides of the ball than the Falcons, thank you very much!

Except maybe near the end...WOW...gotta give the Falcons D lots of credit there...they REALLY fought for it even though it didn't work out. I'm feeling pretty good that it won't come down to THAT for the Pats to pull off a win. Right? Right?

EDIT: Granted, the Saints left some points on the field too, but I think the math still would have worked out in the Falcons favor if both sides made all the points they could have. I didn't keep exact score, but, you know...

I agree with majority of yourr points here except your implication that the pats may be better on the defensive side. The Falcons played a VERY AGRESSIVE defense. They put intense pressure on Brees all night. Pess will have his DBs play 20 yards off...just wait.

Not sure why everyone has all of a sudden become Atlanta Falcons fans tonite. I think the Saints are a likeable bunch and deserve to be 8-0. They aren't hated until they beat NE...

No hate, just looking for some team to put a chink in their armor before the Pats have to play them. No biggie.

Just gotta say I enjoy all the pics and clips you make and post around the forum. Great stuff, thanks!

Gruden is wearing on me mightily. The first couple-three weeks or so, I thought he was doing well and was (somewhat surprisingly) upbeat and personable, as well as informative. I thought it was a great change from his constant screaming and Chucky faces persona (I've watched a fair amount of Bucs games, here). Boy, was I wrong! At least one could understand what Screaming Chucky was going on about!

Thank you , stick around , there are more to come until february 2010. I hope.

Here is other quotes from Gruden last night:
"Thats good football right there"
Drew Brees is “The Surgeon.” another OUTSTANDING FOOTBALL PLAYER."
Marques “The Beast” Colston…. and Jeremy “The Beast” Shockey….. and just about anyone “The Beast” else on the offense

I guess Peyton must be in Gruden's famous "doghouse" now, because Brees has replaced him as "The Surgeon."
Sorry, Peyton, guess you'll have to try harder than you did against the Niners last Sunday. Although, I prefer that you don't, thank you very much!

I'm still not sold on the Saints, to be honest, having watched them of late. They dismantled a Giants team & defense that we now know is in disarray. Defensive scoring bailed them out against both AFCE teams, and it did as well against the Falcons. Brees is a beast, no doubt, but he has been held in check this season - if the Pats offense can avoid making the big mistakes the Jets/Atl/Miami did, they will win the game.

Monday Night Football Ruined by Unbearable Commentating

The Monday Night announcing crew does a great job of giving praise to the players who are playing the game, but they hardly ever critique or make any significant perceptive or acute analysis about the game. I lost count of the amount of times I heard Gruden or Jaworski say, “Man that Drew Brees is a genius!” or “Matt Ryan is one of the best young quarterbacks in the league today!”.
