OT: MLB sucks

It wasn't a great series other than the drama of ending long title droughts for the two teams. Lots of errors, mediocre pitching for the most part, bad baserunning and constant over managing. I'm really happy for whoever won. Congratulations Chicaland or Clevago. You deserved this, now, how about your fans go out and trash the city....

CPD - Waveland & Clark St - fans have taken over the street, bottles being thrown everywhere. 23:54 #ChicagoScanner
Were we watching the same series? The Cubs did not score a run in the first game. The Cleveland starter is on record for striking out 8 of 9 in the first batters. One Cub jumped back and the pitch was a called strike. I would say that was a "nasty" pitch. Cleveland scored 1 run in game 2. The third game was 1-0.......(that is what you would call a pitching masterpiece). 7-2 was the fourth game and a 2-3 game was the fifth. Cleveland's strategy was to get the starter to the fifth inning as the bullpen was so dominant (it was). A lot of runs were scored in the last game, which was game 7 and went into extra innings........I get it, its a football site.

I used to be a huge baseball fan, growing up I alternated between baseball and football as my #1. I lived and died with the Red Sox, especially in the playoffs, 2003 practically killed me. I moved to Florida a few days after Boone's HR and it was like leaving a funeral. I was down in Florida for 2004 and got to enjoy it with my Dad who was an absolute hard core baseball fan. David Robert's steal was magical.

After we won in 2004 it was satisfying but it was also weirdly anti climatic because there had been so many heartbreaks. I've been through four Patriots Super Bowl wins but I constantly thirst for more, I'm never satisfied. Maybe it's because the Patriots were my first and you never forget your first.

I started watching the Rays and rooting for them a little and then when my son was born I came to a realization, MLB is for single or retired guys. There's no way I have time for 3 hours every day for 6-7 months. Not if I want to actually have a life and spend time with my son. So my interest gradually faded until now where the only MLB game I watched all year was the game last night.

The Pats are only once a week and each game actually matters. MLB, there are so many games that most of them are meaningless. I tried to rekindle some interest in baseball for my son's sake but honestly I find it so slow and boring now and I think he senses that and has no interest in it either. I live and die with every play of a Patriots game and my son is a huge fan as well. He plays flag football and he just loves the game, it's a bond that we share like my Dad and I did with baseball.

I feel kinda bad sometimes that I haven't passed on the love of baseball to him, but I just can't fake it. College football is my #2 now and that's about all I have time for as this point in my life.

When I saw the tarp come out last night, I thought to myself, I don't miss this ****.

say what you want about baseball it's run 100 percent better than the nfl that's for sure.

Really? In what way exactly? I mean its great that Pablo Sandoval will get 85 million dollars and not play and still get paid because he is too fat, but I am not sure thats good business.

Then why were you watching something you hate at midnight?

One of the most hyped games of all-time, featuring baseball'a two most desperate franchises, incredible series and Game 7 (I finally decided to watch three innings) features a dramatic comeback and goes into extra innings, but...

RAIN DELAY

Some sprinkle mist on the field, so the game is being halted and tarps brought out. Wouldn't want these coddled millionaires to play an athletic outing in the rain. And the NFL is now losing the ratings war to THIS?

Lol.

EDIT: And A-ROD is one of the commentators!!! WTF!
And Rodney Harrison is on Sunday Night Football every week. WTF!

It was a good game because it was meaningful and had some historical implications.

It's just the other 162 games I don't have time for. I'm an all or nothing guy, I can't watch half assed and not know what is going on. Either I watch every game or none at all. Last night was the exception.

You would ***** about anything

You're right. That's light years worse than Greg Hardy being placed on the NFL Commissioner's Exempt List and being paid for an entire season without having to play a down. And that Josh Brown? Just a frisky type of fella - one game off is just about right. Damn, Fat Pablo getting all that dough is, for sure, embarrassingly worse...

Have you ever played baseball? You are certainly entitled to say it sucks, but I disagree. Nobody wants weather affecting the biggest game of the year in a game thats not meant to be played in the elements. And ARod is a fantastic commentator and does a very good job in that role
