Anyone have any insight into exactly what his injury was? Was it serious enough that they didn't think he could make it back in 4 weeks or super-serious as in something tore/broke and he needed months of healing?

I'm not sure anyone said.

In any case, it may—emphasis may—be a Darryl Roberts-like injury where they felt they simply couldn't justify holding, or simply couldn't afford to hold, a spot for him to get healthy.

The injury was mentioned as something that would not effect him going forward, meaning it was probably a 4-6 week thing but because it was the end of the season that means IR

The biggest reason why that Giants' D shut down the best offense of all time in the biggest game of the season. Congrats to him on his accomplishments, and it's good to know I won't ever see him in our backfield again.
