I know FSU probably wasn't a legit top 10 team but what a start for BC! Almost 300 yards rushing. Good for Coach O'Brien.

Maybe he'll let his old friends the Pats borrow his team's OL. Lol

Meanwhile in Florida....

A) If he does/did it, I don't want to see it
B) He deleted ALL his internet accounts, so something tells me he is going to renege. Even SVP on ESPN called him out.

I am going to make a similar promise myself. Everyone ready? OK here we go...

If the New England Patriots lose this Sunday, I will eat angel hair pasta and meatballs for dinner Sunday night, probably with a glass of cabernet and some garlic bread. LMK if you want me to post a video online.....

And when we win?

Probably the same....

I like to cook up a whole batch of meatballs on opening Sunday and Super Sunday as appetizers to snack on all afternoon.... then for dinner I make the pasta and bread......
Do you deliver? [I keed, I keed.]

I'd love to get another year of Castellanos after this one - but more than likely he's going to be a premium target in the transfer portal.

Great for BC and Shame on FSU. It was a great game but BC had no business being in realistic striking distance in the 4th, forget even beating them. Frankly it's a wonder there are ever any upsets like that in college. The disparity of talent is huge between true football factories and lower D1 schools.

The only thing that probably makes it possible are immature ****y kids making lots of mental mistakes or going on a bender the might before.

Sounds like a challenge. I'm in.

If the Pats lose Sunday I'm going to force myself to go to the North End in Boston on Monday for lunch or dinner. I'll go to Artu for either Shrimp Scampi (the right way, without tomato) or Short Rib Ravioli with mushrooms and a veal demi glaze. Or I'll go to Carmelina's for Wild Mushroom penne (I substitute fusile). At either place I'll have a glass or two of wine that pairs well with my meal. If the Pats win I'll do both.

Win or lose I'll be heading to Modern Pastry afterwards.

Castellanos is a real QB, who's a talented runner - combine that with Bill O'Brien's okie-doke offense, with the misdirections and screens and other nonsense that confuses young college defenses, and a schemed up defense, that's a bowl team. Florida State lost a ton of players last year, and didn't do much in the transfer portal, and it really shows.

My brother in law is a huge FSU fan. To get an idea, a year ago he dropped cable solely because he was so mad about not being able to watch the Seminoles in week one (due to a Disney/ESPN contract dispute with Spectrum/Charter that resulted in a blackout) that he cut the cord and swore he would never return. To this day he still talks about it, that's how irritated he remains about missing that game.

It is now Wednesday and he has yet to respond to a simple text, where I said 'wow, can you believe this game?!'. This is a normally very mild mannered person, not one to hold grudges or become angry. My wife asked her sister how he is doing, and she said that she has never seen him so annoyed, and that she has never seen him so bitter for such a long time.

Perhaps the last few Patriot Seasons have me preparing for the worst while watching some of my favorite teams lately. During the pre-game show, the talking heads said with total confidence that Florida State was a 16 Point Favorite and should take care of BC easily.

I kept waiting for BC to start making mistakes etc,.but, as the game wore on, BC kept on looking more and more impressive and played really well. This was happening all while the tom,tom drum was beating and a full stadium of fans were performing that stupid arm chop. . . LMAO

Even if Florida State isn't as good as everybody thought they were going to be, BC appears to have really bought in to BOB.

This could be a very interesting season. . .

They're not, and they did. The only thing that's going to hold BC back is a lack of talent - although the misdirections and schemes, if the kids are buying into it (and it seems like they are) will be good enough to beat most teams outside of the the top 25, and that's mostly who they're playing.

Florida State starting the season ranked in the top 10, after the massive amount of talent they lost in the offseason was a joke, and proves that not even the college football media watches games or pays attention anymore.

Quite a line he has there. I wonder if Wolf can lean on him for some intel when the draft comes around. Not sure how many will declare for 2025.

I don't think BOB left on the best of terms. He took the OC job at Ohio State before the HC job at BC. BOB was obviously getting out of town for any job.

Obviously it’s for none other than dollars rather than competitive equality, but this new playoff system will be a joke. The fact the ACC winner will be guaranteed a top 4 spot is hilarious. FSU or Clemson would be middle of the pack at best in the SEC. Georgia played the most vanilla calls and schemes and sodomized that pathetic Clemson team who are ACC favorites. Now we’ll hear about how great the Canes are with their soft schedule and inevitable collapse against mediocre teams

That’s what I wonder, yeah. I know he kind of darted out, but that doesn’t completely tell us how he feels. Was he just trying to get out instead of needing to play the “job security waiting game”? He probably knew they weren’t going to keep him on anyway. I am sure he has some reservations about some of it but don’t know if he actually has anything against Mayo or Wolf themselves.

Clemson's not really an ACC favorite - that QB Klubnick is still complete garbage. Defense is pretty good, but Dabo Swinney doesn't believe in the transfer portal, which is why they get run by real teams the last few years. Georgia is on one of the best college runs I've seen in a long, long time, the fact that they got screwed out of the playoff last year (everyone crying about Florida St, when it was Georgia who got absolutely hosed, by one last-second loss) - so them putting it on Clemson should have been a surprise to no one.

You're right that they'd be middle of the pack in the SEC - but the SEC is incredibly top-heavy. It's Georgia, Bama, LSU and Texas (and I *guess* Ole Miss, although they'll have to prove that they're not seriously overranked), and the rest are just, regular college programs. The aura of the SEC has really worn off. Look what Miami did to Florida in the swamp last week, and they called the dogs off in the 4th quarter.

Miami's actually good - and having a QB that doesn't Mac-Jones-it-up is going to make a huge difference. Their offensive line, I would swap man-for-man for the Patriots right now, and it's all freshmen and sophomores. Will they choke to an Georgia Tech again? History says they probably will, but there's real talent out there, maybe enough to overcome a brain-dead head coach.

And I expect them to get stomped by Georgia. I expect everyone to get stomped by Georgia.

Anyone that is hired, moves their family to the area, and then has to play the "job security waiting game" less than 12 months later is going to be upset. It is unlikely that individual will then go out of their way to help the organization that just screwed them over.
