(I'm posting this here because I thought it would appeal to the draftnik mind -- if you think it's inappropriate, I'll move it.)
An old friend of mine designs sports games with an emphasis on strategic team building, like Football Mogul and Baseball Mogul. He has a new football card game in kickstarter right now that calls out to me:
Masters of the Gridiron - Kickstarter
As I understand it, the decks are based on current NFL teams with actual players and stats. It's designed for both quick-play versions and serious deck/team-building versions. Sort of a fast-paced cross between Magic the Gathering and Strat-O-Matic football? My strategy-gamer kid and I figured it would be a great place for us to meet in the middle.
The kickstarter levels are basically just pre-orders for the game, plus you get the Mogul computer games thrown in. I have absolutely no financial interest in this, and haven't even talked to my friend about it. I just thought you all might be interested, and I want the game to get made!
