And it's to testify against Hines Ward

Some starting members of the Pittsburgh Steelers will be forced to testify in a civil case against a well known teammate.

Just prior to Saturday morning's practice, Casey Hampton, Deshea Townsend, Ike Taylor, Tyrone Carter and backup wideout Nate Washington were served with subpoenas.

The lawyer for a man who co-owns a South Side bar with Super Bowl XL MVP Hines Ward, said the players will be questioned about "activities that happened at the bar that were detriment of the bar."

Attorney Mark Bartholomaei added that information will come out at the depositions.

Earlier this month, Ward agreed to pay out tens of thousands of dollars to Bartholomaei's client, Nick Lettieri, after a court ruled in Lettieri's favor.

The same court ordered Korry Pitts, the third member of the group that owns the Locker Room Bar and Grille, to hand over roughly $122,000.

Bartholomai reports that sum has not yet been received.
