You'll be shocked at number 21!
Every NFL team's 10-year record, ranked from 32 to 1 | FOX Sports

There is a very funny reddit thread devoted to this:
Every NFL team's 10-year record, ranked from 32 to 1 • /r/nfl

It is so easy to forget how spoiled we are. It truly is amazing. Reading that reddit thread, I am reminded of what it used to be like rooting for Grogan etc.. Just staying up at night begging God for this improbable combination of wins and losses to happen the final weeks so we might get a wildcard spot. We truly are incredibly lucky.

The Patriots have won 126 games in that span, 20 more than second-placed Green Bay. That gap is as big as the gap between the second-placed Packers and the 12th ranked Cardinals.

EDIT:

its hard to judge these things when you consider the AFC east gets spotted nearly 20 losses right off the bat.

Oddly enough, despite this 10-year (and beyond) history, I'm not yet tired of winning.
You never get tired of winning. It's like a drug.

And this ten year span is following a stretch where the Pats won 3 Super Bowls in 6 years and barely missed on reaching another in 2006.

We were also robbed of a first round pick in 2008 because teams were already sick of us winning so much.

Wow.

That is amazing.
Just following the pattern of the numbers:
12 - 86 wins
11 - 88 wins
10 - 89 wins
9 - 89 wins
8 - 90 wins
7 - 91 wins
6 - 92 wins
5 - 94 wins
4 - 100
3 - 103
2 - 106
1 - 126!

You would expect that variation from the pattern gets far harder as you go up the distribution. Any statistician would expect a number in the range of 106 to maybe 109. That's just nuts.

To highlight just how big the gap is: Next year the Patriots will lose their 16-0 regular season of 2007 from the list, meaning the Packers and Steelers will both (losing a 13-3 and a 10-6 season) be 17 wins behind the Pats. The Patriots could go 0-16 and the Packers/Steelers 16-0 and the Patriots would still be #1.

I would actually expect this to be like the bell curve. A few outliers at the top and bottom, and one big bump in the middle. I think that is what we actually get. One superstar, a tier of good, a vast wad of mediocrity, a tier of bad, and the very bad. The only thing is that there's no symmetry the other way. The first and second worst are only separated by 2 games. Though the worst 3 have some separation from the pack.

Someone should draw the histogram and superimpose best fit gaussian...show here

I'm not spoiled. People need to stop using that stupid word. If you want to call yourself spoiled, be my guest. But enough with the "we" crap. Speak for yourself! You know BB would tell you that!
Seriously though, I had a good idea of how good we were in 2003-2007, but especially since that season, I've been even more appreciative of this franchise. I've only been a fan since 1993, so I'm KNOW the "old timers" are the opposite of spoiled. It's why I roll my eyes every time I see a comment about how the current team isn't perfect.... "We need a pass rusher on defense before we're considered elite!" "Tom needs a deep threat!" or the dreaded game-day post, "We punted our first possession, this team sucks!"

If you can't have fun watching this dynasty, I don't have any advice for you on how to lead a happy life.

Simple histogram
