I agree with you about how the money could have been put to better use. Instead of leaving a legacy of helping the less fortunate he is going to leave a legacy of leaving some fat cat casino owners happy. These guys lose touch with the value of a dollar.
I remember hearing a story before SB 36 that he actually bet like $50,000 on the Pats.
Sadly...former star athletes are ripe for gambling problems. They have alot of cash and in some ways have become addicted to adrenaline rushes. It has to be harder for them to quit than the average person...a very sad story for sure considering all the good that money was capable of.
The only winners in gambling are the Casino's, look at the development of Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun, love folks who think they have figured out a system...
