Me and the pops went to the Indy V Cheifs game. Besides the outcome we had a great time.

One thing I would like to say is they get loud in that stadium and it would be nice to have a crowd actually make noise.

The stadium is huge and I think the nosebleeds would be significantly worse than at Gillette. they dont really overlap the section so it sets everything further back.

One thing that I found interesting was that they have banners hanging for every playoff appearance. Wild card births included.

We went in wearing Chiefs gear (and I had a Pats hat on) but to be honest we would have had it worse if we just wore all pats gear....We originally planned to buy some Saiints championship shirts to wear but we didnt find any and we waited to long to online purchase. I had a Christian Okoye jersey and the pops had a Cassell jersey.

I would like to talk bad about the Indy fans but they were all friendly and no one gave us any crap even when I pointed out my Pats hat to people.

We did confuse people on the way out as Colts fans tried to brag to us as if we were Chiefs fans and instead we just started yelling go pats at everyone and no one really knew what the heck we were talking about.

As to the game....Man would it be nice to have a couple of backs like the Chiefs have.

All the credit in the world to Romeo and his D they played a hell of a game and if the O could have done anything they would have won. Bend dont break all game and they finnally broke at the end but only after the O failed to score time and time again.

As to the offense I remember Cassell being much more accurate than we saw today and man do they need a WR Bowe just sux. That drop in the end zone and the 3 and out that followed was the changing point in the game if they convert there I think they win.

If I think of anything else I will add to it. Otherwise back to normal this week.

I'm still trying to figure out how you watched the game...

I'm drunk, but what the hell are you talking about? Why would you go to a game, wear team gear of a team that you don't root for, go out of your way to get them to talk crap to you and then come on here and tell us about it?

All valid points...

I thought it was interesting. Maybe you need another drink.

hahaha, why not I love football and the Colts are one of our rivals. I root against the Colts most weeks so it wasnt that out of norm.

We came out to Indy to visit some family and we decided to plan this trip around a bye week so we could catch a Colts game which happened to be vs a team that is really easy for any Pats fan to route for.

We certainly wore the gear to give the Colts some crap but its not like we were running around talking sh**. It was actually fun to watch a game in person without as much emotion. We certainly wanted the Chiefs to win but when it was over we were able to shrug it off I joked so this is how normal people feel when they leave a game their team lost.

I can understand wanting to piss some Colts fans off...but why do you own another teams gear?

Good story, hope you had fun. Wish you would have gotten the Peyton face live after a loss but the Chiefs did hold their own pretty well.

Sounds like a good experience! You should come back the next time Indy hosts NE.
I've been living here off and on for the past 15 years ( can't beat the low cost of living but the seafood SUCKS! ) and I wear my Patriots and Red Sox gear almost constantly and honestly I couldn't tell you that I've ever experienced any ugly negativity about it.
Closest thing to it was after last years Pats/Colts game I was wearing my Moss jersey and leaving the stadium someone yelled "Go home, Randy!" so I did..... Maybe Moss heard it too!

I had a similar experience to yours when I went to the Indy/Steelers playoff game in 2005 (hoping I have the year right). We (hubby and I) gambled that would be where the Pats would end up before the AFCCG, but they went to Denver instead and lost the night before the Indy game, so we had no one in the hunt. We were ticked off at newspaper reports on game day from Polian, Dungy and other whiners that Colts fans were selling their tickets to Steelers fans and that everyone should wear blue to the the game. That prompted us to go out and buy Steelers gear (just hats, wouldn't spring for a shirt I would likely never wear again) and wear them to the game.

We were amazed as we stood there amidst dozens of Indy fans waiting to pay for our hats that everyone was nice to us and smiling. We thought about how we would risk being beat up if we were doing this in Foxboro on game day. We thought it was hilarious, in a pathetic sort of way, that the Colts had all these doofus banners hanging from the rafters, including ones that said "AFC East Champion" (indicating, of course, that they lost in the 1st round of the playoffs). The Steelers fans around us thought the same, and when they found out we were really Pats fans, a) thanked us for supporting their team at the game, and b) said they wished they were playing the Pats in the next round instead of Denver, and that it was kind of a let down.

We had a great time at the game, in part because we could relax as it really didn't matter to us who won, although back then my Peyton Manning hatred was stronger than it is now. The fans were nice and I liked that their stadium was in downtown, meaning everyone tailgated at the local bars, which was fun.

So how well did they pipe the crowd noise into the stadium?...oh wait, the Colts would never do something like that...:bricks:

We didn't own it until this trip......but honestly who wouldnt apreciate a Christian Okoye jersey. And a Cassel jersey is fun for a Pats fan too but he needs to start playing better for that jersey to stay relevant.

Its and enclosed stadium, of course its going to be louder. I really like the design of it though, the large section of windows at each end.

Good story, you'll always have that memory with your pops. I'm watching more Colts games because I'm in that area and don't have DTV this year. In yesterday's game, I don't get throwing when they were on the goal line. They hammered the Colts running the ball and actually would have scored on the previous run, but they RB fumbled with the ball. Then, in the second half, they went away from the run. There's no way Indy, can make an adjustment for the run, because they are really bad. Not to mention, Cassell really sucked throwing it yesterday. Anyway, enjoyed your story.

I was in the old stadium. It would be really easy to do there, but I'm not even sure they had to. It had a metal roof that was relatively low by NFL standards. I was in the rafters of the stadium (they also had the metal benches where I was sitting). The noise just became trapped by the roof and the place was literally vibrating. It also became unbearably hot. Our stadium just isn't built like that.

Oh it is definitely a very nice stadium and I too like they huge windows on each end doesn't make it feel as closed in.

I fully understand we wont be as loud as a dome but I would like to see us get up and cheer 3rd downs the instant 2nd down ends and not wait until the huddle is over and the offense is ready to snap the ball. The idea is to make it loud and hard for them to hear in the huddle and not just at the line of scrimmage but our fans dont seem to get that and they also dont cheer 3rd down at all much more frequently.

Look I think our crowd has just given up on trying to make noise based on the fact we will never be as loud as other stadiums. When really we should just try to be as good as we can. But I guess it is just to corperate an atmosphere and they just dont care. They want their drinks and they want to be able to keep there butts glued to the seats without fans standing to watch.

So true and so sad
