2025 had one of the best RB draft classes in years and the Chiefs waited until the 7th round to take an undersized WR-convert for their RB choice (Brashard Smith). They weren’t serious enough in addressing it and hasn’t worked out for them as you mentioned.

I think Mahomes has been getting by on a lot of natural talent, the kind one gets as the son of a MLB player. I think we'll now see if he has the same kind of burning desire TFB12 had, since this injury is probably the worst set-back of his career and re-hab will be a real challenge, as will be dealing with his limitations post-rehab.

We'll also see KC's team-building chops, or lack thereof.

I think Mahomes is a winner, and he will irk his ass off to get back to being a really good QB, it's putting together a dynasty caliber team that I think will keep them from ever reaching the heights the Patriots reached. Brady's 7 rings and GOAT status are safe until Vrabel and Drake Maye are done.
