Looks like the Broncos got anothe rcall in their favor an offisde call late in the game...Hmmm I think ESPN..the loudmouths..and others in teh media should be calling the NFL out on this one..Denver wins 2 because of officials?? This one is an obvious offside that was ignored..really VERY poor...

Re: OT:Another blown call in Denver

When they stop getting the calls and scoring 40+ points, their holes will shut them down. Their run game is poor and their D is atrocious.

Mort really ticked off Tom Jackson when he mentioned this. Keyshawsn also joked about Broncos cheaters. Could they be after TJ because he always goes biasedly towards the Pats? TJ looked really ticked and Mort seemed to enjoy bringing it up.

No-the Saints lost b/c Martin Gramatica couldn't nail a FG, even if it meant to save his own life.

Frankly, I'm tired of everyone, including myself, complaining and whining about the refs. If you play close games, you BETTER make the plays to win. Even Parcells summed it up himself saying that if you play alot of close games, you'll be lucky to win 1/2 of them.

Lots of calls like this missed every game. Did you want to talk about the 250 holding calls that weren't made as well?

Score enough points and have half a defense and you wont have to worry about bad calls.

We did that last year, and they called it,( ESPN) running up the score and they were unmerciful.
I agree with you.

I dont remember ESPN saying that, were they talking about us running up the score?...and if they did (not that I would expect any less, i just dont recall), This is the NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE, not intermerials...

wait, says it best. YouTube - Mike Gundy Lectures the Oklahoma Media
That will never get old.

Perhaps this explains it:

omg....

thats going on someones locker here right now...

I just hope, if we do make the playoffs, we don't have to go to Denver or Indianapolis. Some really strange things happen with officials in those places. It's not an excuse for '05 and '06 but worth noting how terribly one-sided and in some cases inconsistent the officiating was.

Put your head in teh sand..that is OK...the NFL needs to vlean up its mess with officials..THAT SIMPLE!! Until there is SOME improvement and they take officiating into the centiry..it'll only get worse..AND if you had been pating attention to it look what happened in roundball..do u NOT think it could not happen in football??? especially with all the many calls that change the outcome of games?? It's nit a question of whining but of seeing a problem and wanting to do something about it...

In an ideal world the refs shouldn't continuously be part of the story every week, yet they are and this year's no exception. Some blown/no calls lead to injury, some of them actually affect the outcome of a game-both of which shouldn't be tolerated.

Didn't GODell recently appoint a retired military officer to oversee officiating? How's that working out :bricks:

I don't usually post about refs but officiating IS becoming news whether we like it or not so while we're on the subject during his post game interview Sunday,Rodney commented on the 'no call' of Ricky Williams diving for Vrabel's legs below the knees. Vrabes was apparently OK thank gawd but Rodney also said he felt that was dirty. He also added there's a LOT of dirty stuff that happens out there and it's either not called, not seen, or ignored.
My whine for today

They also took a Bush TD off the board on a holding call that didn't exist and they called PI on Jason David when if anything it was offensive PI. Denver always gets the calls in Denver and it seems as if they're the NFLs golden team this year based upon the call Indy got screwed on in their game.

This is 100% accurate.

You can do something about a problem while at the same time not using it as an excuse for losing.

But it still doesn't take away the fact that the Saints have 2 VERY glaring weaknesses-kicker and a a porous secondary.

So what if the refs had made those 2 calls properly? If Gramatica keeps up his poor play and their secondary keeps up their porous play, the Saints are going to lose alot of football games this year.

Of course, the Saints had opportunities to win and should have taken advantage but that doesn't mean we should ignore the glaring problem that NFL officiating has been over the past few seasons. Same thing with San Diego last week, they could have stopped the 2 point conversion but that doesn't mean they didnt get somewhat jobbed by the refs.

I didn't click the link because Florio disgusts me; so I re-watched the game on the 10-minute NFLN on Demand. BTW, 10 minutes isn't long enough to show all of the 3rd-down action; at least 15 minutes is needed.

I saw the play in question: 3rd/short after the 2-Minute Warning. That donkeys LB was standing so far into the neutral zone that his foot had almost completely passed the football. Not even close. That should've been a no-brainer offsides call. But then again, the game was played in Denver, home of Bowlen & Shanahan, convicted salary cap cheats during their SB years, and tenured members of the Omissioner's inner circle.

There is no doubt in my mind that the zebras - with the league's silent approval - will be having the donkeys' backs all year long and will try their utmost to raise Cutler to Brady status. This is further proof that NFL officiating has gone the way of NBA officiating.

And one more thing: that PI call against the dolts was the correct call.

I haven't seen the play in question, but does anyone remember the hobbs(i believe) p/i call in the playoffs the year we lost to denver. same game watson almost saved the champ pick6. Ashley lelie was a step behind ellis (or the db in question) reached out and grabbed him as the ball came and defensive pi was the call.

On the ricky williams call. They did throw the flag on him, however they called it a deadball foul-which was wrong, brown was an easy 10-15 yards out when the play happened, should have negated a td. Combine that with bs grasp call, and the game COULD have been different. Don't get me wrong, I am not making excuses, simply pointing out 2 pretty poor calls during our own game. I AM NOT saying the refs cost us the game in any way shape or form, the d and o line blew it in my book.
