One long-dormant pastime that will return in 2018

Thanks to the trade for the Bears' 2nd rounder, we now once again get to revel in one of our old pastimes, rooting against other teams to give the Patriots a higher pick!

Thanks to the trade for the Bears' 2nd rounder, we now once again get to revel in one of our old pastimes, rooting against other teams to give the Patriots a higher pick!

Looking at their 2018 schedule I'm inclined to think we have pick 33-40 coming our way.

Technically, yes, but for many of us it was spoiled because rooting for the pick meant rooting against Garoppolo.

That's not a problem with the Bears pick.

That's not a problem with the Bears pick.

Remember when we had Carolinas 2nd in 2011? We lucked out because they ended up being the worst team in football.

Of course that pick ended up turning into Ras-I Dowling..

Maybe they could use those picks to trade up for their future QB if they like the crop of QBs next season instead of using them.

Related to that, I miss the days when the Pats perpetually had two first round picks… My hope for the Pats next quarterback is in a couple of years to have finagled someone else’s first round pick that turns out to be a great one and they get their guy that way.
