On to the Jets!

Because the Jets played their A++++ game against an average team at home and won by a two-point conversion, so now they are the most dangerous team in the NFL with a QB who has declared their offense unstoppable after scoring a whopping 24 points in a single game.

They were also helped by Dallas ineptness

-Dallas gave up a 90 yard TD
-3rd & goal from the 7, defense stops them but jest get a 1st down because of a horse collar tackle, jest end up getting a TD
-Dallas went for it on 4th & 2 from the 7 instead of kicking the FG to make it 6-7
-Dallas missed a 40 yard FG

They seem to have grown one collective massive ego from that one win. Especially Darnold. Really looking forward to the Pats defense humiliating him tomorrow night.

This is such a crock of sh*t lie. Pats win 30-14 tomorrow you'll be waving the "HAVEN'T PLAYED ANYONE" flag high.

PITCHERS AND CATCHERS BABY
They could win 120-0 and it would be the same line of people Tuesday Morning crying on how they haven't played anyone.

Like there are these mythical great teams out there that the Patriots are ducking.

Maybe, just maybe, they 'haven't played anyone' because they're just that much better than everyone else? I mean, they are the defending Super Bowl Champions after all. It's not that big a stretch.

I see you watched the game. If Jason Garrett doesn't Jason Garrett that one away, the Jets are still winless. The Jets played a good HALF of football. They held on by the hair of their chinny-chin-chin in the 2nd half.

Meyers had a spot locked up for weeks, so "barely" is inapt.
Yup, many posters had Meyers ahead of Dorsett. Others didn't.

I have a need to stream the game tomorrow night. I've downloaded a BSPN app and an NFL Live stream (where I just watched the Cowboys and Eagles game) but I'm not sure I'll be successful tonight.

Anybody have a good app you can steer me to?

Game should be shown locally on Channel 5. I don't know if they have streaming on the phone or not, but they might.

One of the more interesting aspects of today's game that could be construed as a warning for tomorrow was the results of the Bills/Miami game. It set up for being one of the biggest mismatches of the weekend. The high flying 4-1 Bills getting the tanking and winless Dolphins at HOME! So of course I picked them for my pool this week.

But the lesson here is that even miss matches that are THAT big, are often mitigated by division play. In this case the Phins carried a lead into the 4th quarter, wracked up close to 400 yds of offense and came within a GL pick and a returned onside kick from actually beating the offensively challenged Bills.

The Jets/Pats game is a LOT less of a talent mismatch and will be a road game to boot. So if the Pats aren't ready to play tough or come out flat like the Bills obviously did, it could be a long day in NJ, just like it was for the Bills

I would absolutely be stoked to see the Jets humiliated in their first SB game since SB III. Oh wait. . .

Why sad? Bill still won. Or did they need to cover?

Your point about being a division game on the road is solid though. We see it all the time, not just in the AFC East, but everywhere in the league. I know you're a long time champion of the idea that the talent gap in the NFL isn't nearly as big as people believe it to be, so when players start to get really familiar with each other (by playing twice a year), it makes talent differences even more negligible. And we've certainly seen bigger road/division mismatches go against us (2004 @Miami comes to mind).

All that to say, anyone who is AFRAID of this Jets team is a wuss.

My father, wearing a New England Patriots shirt, ran into a guy yesterday while he was out shopping. The other guy, older guy (for anyone here) asked my dad, "You're a Patriot fan, huh?"

My father, "All my life"

"Can't stand the Patriots, they cheat all the time" responded the now apparent Patriot hater. (My father gives him a blank look and a couple seconds of quiet goes by). "Yeah, they have to buy their championships"

"They seem to do pretty well."

The apparent grump, "And don't let me get started on Brady and the crap he gets away with. Nobody else gets calls like him."

My father, "I can see what you mean. They're 6-0 and Brady hasn't played his best because of all the injuries they've had to the receivers and (offensive) linemen ." (My dad didn't remember that we've also lost 2 fullbacks)

Mr. Get-Off-My-Lawn. "Somethings not right, they should have lost a couple games."

Having a rare moment of wit (which might happen only once per year), responded, "I can see your point, but I think I know why they keep winning. (Guy gives him a go-on look) They've forgotten how to lose."

At this point my dad see the other man get visibly angry and decides to walk away.

It really did happen. Have to give the old guy credit for this.

I love how Sam Darnold doesn't literally **** his pants at the 50-yard-line for one half of football, and he's suddenly A-aron Rodgers. And it's not just the National Media.

Are people THAT desperate for the Jete to be good? Or THAT desperate for a good quarterback under 30?

Miami outplayed Buffy most of that game, fortunately for Buffy . . . [ahem]

Well obviously my view is quite different.

1. NE's mediocre offense is now decently banged up.
2. I don't believe NE's D is all that special. Definitely good and coached great, but your opponents... I mean c'mon: Miami, Washington, Darnold-less Jets, Midgets, Buffalo n Steelers.
3. Jets do have a good D that has faced tough opponents. And now Mosely is back.
4. Sam is the best QB in the AFC East now.
5. Crowd will be nuts.

Conclusion... Jets win.

1- NE's "mediocre" offense still put up 300+ yards on teams>
2- NE's defense and Special teams is one of the reasons why the Phins, Skins, and Steelers are as bad as they are. The fact you can't credit the Pats D for only giving up 21 points through 6 games shows your ridiculous bias.
3 - The Jets D is nothing special.
4 - Darnold isn't even the 2nd best QB in the AFCE.
5 - The Jets fans psychological status was never in doubt. It won't have any bearing on the game, however.

The Pats are not going to blow out the Jets by any means. Not with our WR hurting right now. Watson coming back for the first time this season is not going to be that effective. It'll be tough to run on that defense as well. Ultimately I think the Pats win in a low scoring game.

The key to a comfortable win versus a nail-biter will be the defense against a second-year QB who has to match wits with Belichick, Belichick & Mayo. This defense is forcing so many turnovers that a couple of short field drives could make this game an early blowout. I don't see the Jets as much of a come from behind team.

The Patriots have a lot of history stopping Leveon Bell with his patient running style. The linebackers have to be very disciplined in their gaps and not give Bell a look at an open hole while the D-line works to shed their blocks.

Darnold looks really good to me. He reminded me last week of a young Ben Roethlisbberger who understood how to use his size to his advantage. Keeping him in contain and forcing him to throw into the secondary is critical.

i didn't realize the jets had so many OL issues.

The Boogeymen are definitely licking their chops. I'm calling at least 2-3 picks tonight.

===============================================

Heh, you never come across as happy to me. Good luck to y'all tomorrow night.

Good to hear from you, Gunnails. Good luck with licking your wounds tomorrow!

You have like 13 hours left of being undefeated. Enjoy it.

I don't mind Jets fans having a mental age of 12. It's what kind of 12-year-olds they are that is so depressing.
