Tough to see where that wasn’t a catch.....bobbled a little on way over goal line when knee touched...that is probably it

You want to remain ignorant purposefully or are trolling?
The call was 100% correct the goal line means nothing here. In this type of catch the receiver must maintain control of the ball through the process (the process of catching the ball when a receiver is falling during the catch = you must maintain control of the ball through the process of falling down. During that process if the ball touches the ground it can't move otherwise you have not maintained control). This completed process determines if it is a possession. Without possession whether the goal line is crossed means nothing just as a catch in the endzone as the receiver is falling out of bounds requires the receiver to maintain control as he falls out of bounds and initially rolls on the ground. Exact same thing.
Blame the receiver -- it is his fault. He should have cradled the ball and rolled/used momentum to go into the endzone (which he could have done easily).

It's all a matter of heath now.

If NE is"healthy" meaning the questionables are good to go and no more major injuries it's over for Pitt.

Game. Set. Match.

The guy's salty. Ben's a different QB on the road although I will give him credit for playing well the last couple of weeks. Hopefully it's one of those high 20s temperature games but our run defense has to get better.

Some brain farts from Brady during the game, but the GOAT and Gronk came up clutch again. Seems like the pass rush/pressures are getting to Brady, rattling him, a bit more than before.

I think this was his worst INT of the year so far. He really wanted this one, forced it even though it was ultra high risk (given the field position and score) and knew it immediately.

The others this year were somewhere between giving Cooks a shot at a play or Gronk getting robbed by that Buffalo clown.

The one today really was just greedy and awful.

That's a perfect shot. You gotta have some type of control.

ESPN is calling the INT a fluke play.

You can't call that a fluke play. Rowe got a hand in and batted it. How is that a fluke?
No fluke when Harmon seems to do it on a regular basis LOL

End of story right there.
If the receiver had been hit a yard earlier where he takes a couple of steps with a football move then the ball not being in control in the pic means nothing. However because he caught the ball as he was falling the process must be maintained through falling on the ground, hitting the ground and a part of the rolling/movement on the ground. So take the goal line away in that pic because it has zero meaning to whether this is a catch (and therefore a possession). The process must be maintained, the ball must be in control, ball in the pic is on the ground and not in control, again end of story...

any word on burkhead? fact that we havent had any rumors that its an acl yet hopefully is good news. he jogged off the field supposedly.

I dont get how people are so upset about that call. He clearly lost control at the end. Gronk had a catch called back this year because they couldnt tell if it hit the ground or not.

if steelers fans want to complain the first td shouldve never happened since it was a clear penalty with the guy out blocking 5 yards up field

That whole play was stupid from the start. They had Williams on White 1 on 1 up top. Instead of running a quick slant or even a stunted out route they send white on a shallow cross. Then Brady forces the throw. It was outright garbage from start to finish on that play. One of the few times you'll hear me yelling at the TV unless it's about a penalty or some jackass doing something dumb.

Schefter Twitter: Initial tests showed Patriots’ RB Rex Burkhead did not tear his ACL, per league source. He could miss a little time, but knee injury initially not believed to be of the major variety.

I don't think it was his decision to throw it there. He was hit. Receiver was open. The hit caused him to throw it short. If you want to criticize him there, do so for him being too patient, holding it too long. He should have thrown it away. And, it was 3rd and 1, bad play call. LOng developing pay there? Get the first down.

Throwing the ball where there is at least 3 defenders and having it picked is NEVER a fluke. Thats why theyre called ‘defenders’

Am I alone in liking both this and the fumble out the end zone rules? Everything is so focused on offence, a touchdown should be tough to get, if you don’t have control of the ball you don’t deserve a touchdown. If you fumble the ball into the end zone you deserve to lose possession.

Regardless, amazing win! So amazing I thought I should post here.

If you cross the goal line with the ball under control, it's a TD. Why does anything after the TD matter? Makes officiating much less complicated.

All I’m hearing is “THE BALL NEVER TOUCHED THE GROUND”... I live in Pennsylvania so there’s a lot of tears out here right now. Thanks for posting this, I’ll be using it!

i remember a game vs ATL where BB basically used the punt block formation on tony gonzalez at the goal line. How come the steelers didnt do it with gronk on the 2 pt conv. Their coaching staff really shoots itself in the foot.
