Pats look terrible, and have significant injuries to deal with, as Welker and Edelman both get hurt (Welker worse).

Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

Sloppy play all around for the most part. A few flashes (Hernandez comes to mind) but a lot more mistakes from both sides of the ball.

It's just preseason, but we all know the third game is billed as the tune up game, so whatever way you spin it it's not a good thing. The sloppy line play along with some of the injuries made it tough to watch for the most part.

Still I'm sure BB will use this game as a wake up call. Not the end of the world, still a lot of would be starters were out, who should be back in time for week 1.

If there is anytime to have a loss like this it's the preseason. BB will be playing this game tape for the next 5 months (at least)

wow that was bad. i know alot of people are saying they went into that with a vanilla scheme, but did they really play vanilla when Brady kept being destroyed as the O-line failed again and again?

Well i guess the blueprint is out on brady, if you can get to him a couple times during the game he wont play worth a crap the whole rest of the game.

It never changes, year after year people overreact to a preseason win or loss, and year after year we forget all about the preseason after the first snap or real football.

I only bother to watch it because I just love the pats, 1st, 2nd 3rd stingers, I dont care. I'd watch them if all they were doing was standing on a field talking, with no audio on the tv.

This is the Pats pass defense we're used to seeing for the past few years. 3-4 or 4-3 it just doesn't matter at this point. It's going to be another long season for the defense.

Or if you can spear their WR and get the ref to throw a flag on him, you are good..or if you can punch a Linemen, and get the ref to throw a facemask flag on them, you are fine.

But really, we will all forget any of these games were even played in about 2 weeks.

Of all the things that can/did go wrong, injuries are the most concerning to me...

As far as lack of effort, execution, etc... maybe this will be like the loss to the Browns last season which sparked that awesome and extremely fired-up game against the Steelers

The Patriots are going to go through two hurricanes: Hurricane Irene on Sunday, and Hurricane Bill on Monday morning in the video room.

BB should make them take the 12 hour bus ride home while critiquing game film the whole way

Solder, Light Vollmer-Could not handle the Lions D line esp their DE lining up in a 9 tech. Guards got owned when DT's were lining up via 5 tech.

When all is said and done, I think the Lions will have one of the best D-line in the league.

Pats didn't turn up to play this one which is very dissapointing but you need a game like this in pre season. Almost no one was on the sam page tonight. Ocho wasn't on the same page as tom. Tom underthrew wes twice. Mayo and chung got their defence mixed up.

All round poor performance but i like (use that term loosely) to see a game like this in pre season. We need to keep everyone grounded and sharp

I would prefer the Patriots put up a stinker like this in the pre-season rather than the season proper. In some perverse manner, it's nice to get a whooping like that. BB will light a fire under the team.

This was an AWFUL game. One of the worst I have seen in a while. But remember this is just preseason and Dark Lord Hoodie (Bill B.) will be showing this game tape to the players and grilling it into them to fix those issues. I don't expect to see a bad loss like this in the regular season.

I had to work tonight but checked my twitter timeline a few times and it seems like it was a bad game. I've got the game on my DVR so I will be curious to see just how bad it was. Something tells me I won't be able to make it to the 3rd quarter...

Still, I would of loved to been around for the game thread. There must of been some classic posts in it.

the pats Oline got there first real test today vs maybe the best front 4 in the NFL and they failed, but it is pre-season we know the pats are not as bad as they looked tonight and they are not as good as they was the first two pre-season games... bottom line the pats defense will get better when haynesworth is on the field and the pats Oline will look better when they face a D line that dose not have Ndamukong Suh on it
