No HOF for Kraft again

On the heels of letting the GOAT QB and GOAT HC leave, and now watching his personally picked HC embarrass himself on a weekly basis, I think the HOF voters realized Kraft was merely a passenger during the dynasty.

And in fact there is absolutely nothing worse than being rubbed the wrong way

You get what you paid for and $20.. is not going to get you far.

But seriously, I think that's all it is. Nothing sinister or conspiratorial, just good ol' Bob trying to grease the wheels before they are even put on the car. When you try too hard, what results is usually the opposite.

A dozen Hall voters, who rarely discuss their deliberations, told ESPN that each time Kraft was snubbed, the campaign on his behalf became more urgent and inventive. The selectors lean on a variety of reasons for denying Kraft while approving coaches and a scout from decades ago -- and even a referee. The voters said the case for Kraft has been hurt by multiple Patriots cheating scandals, along with a selection system that until now has pitted coaches against owners. They even mention Kraft's dismissed charges after two visits to a Jupiter, Florida, massage parlor.

Voters also saw -- as did many Patriots fans and some former players -- two major media projects as pro-Kraft narratives: a bestselling 2020 book, "The Dynasty," and the Apple TV+ 10-part docuseries of the same name released last winter. Both projects depicted Kraft deftly managing the egos of two all-time greats, coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady, to keep the hit-making band together as long as possible.

Some voters told ESPN they believe both projects were intended to juice Kraft's Hall of Fame candidacy. A Patriots spokesperson adamantly denied the projects were part of any push to get Kraft into Canton. And last winter, Kraft said he had no influence on the docuseries and was "disappointed" with the film.

But Kraft owns the film and television rights to "The Dynasty" book, according to documents obtained by ESPN. That means the book by acclaimed author Jeff Benedict could be turned into a film only with Kraft's permission. And according to emails, documents and sources, Kraft owns the docuseries, licensed it to Apple and sought editorial control.

Shortly after the book was published, Patriots PR chief Stacey James sent copies to at least five Hall of Fame voters as an argument for Kraft's induction. The Patriots sent one voter a copy two years in a row.

That is so overblown. If Kraft wasn’t involved, someone else would have stepped up and those TV and CBA deals still would have been agreed upon. The interested parties all had too much at stake to not come to an agreement. Regardless, those factors alone should not get him into the hall.

With rare exceptions (JJ should not have been one of those exceptions), I don't believe that owners should be in the Hall of Fame. Kraft made a couple of great head coaching hires and was fortunate that one of those coaches drafted the GOAT QB. He should just be thankful for the championships that Tom and Bill gifted him and for the 25+ fold return on his initial investment.

Go into your massive home theatre room and play your propaganda film ‘Dynasty’ on repeat, Bobby. Watching you portray yourself as an infallible hero while you stab Bill in the back numerous times will surely make you feel better. Don’t forget a box of tissues, though, just in case.
Brady’s relationship with Kraft helped keep him here for 20 years. People don’t give Kraft his due on the relationships he built with key players over the years. Bill was the hard ass and Kraft was the softie. It worked for many years. If Kraft was some absentee owner or a clown like Jim Irsay the organization would have been run and looked at lot different during the dynasty years.

who is arguing for Kraft on the HOF contributor committee? Not sure hof the make up of that group

who ever it is, they need to do a better job.

I don't think we know the whole "behind the scenes" story. The Boston sports media led us to believe that RKK is a popular NFL figure, but that is not true. People that vote don't like RKK. I don't think it is jealousy.
Personally I feel the selections should be based off solely NFL contributions.. when it comes to this it's a no brainer to put RK in.

Good KRAFT OUT....for the good of the 32

I wonder if the committee will put Irsay in before Kraft. He had the good sense to not let his team win too many Super Bowls. His drug habit can be forgiven.

His team makes top notch banners or so I hear. A model for the rest of the league.

The dead girlfriend tho...

I wonder if Clark Hunt is pining for the hall of fame and thinks he won all those championships or if he realizes he was a small background piece like Kraft.

The dead girlfriend tho...

Just a hood ornament that he mistakenly put in the trunk with the 100's of pills and the $100K.

100% gold-standard, reagent-quality horseshit from the fatass blowhards - Goodell first and foremost - who run the league.

I agree with this. It kinda comes off like Kraft is desperate for this and it's rubbing everyone the wrong way and they don't want to feel like they are being manipulated or forced into it. He's absolutely going to be in the HOF.

Honestly, I don't know why he cares so much. Nobody gives a **** that Jerry Jones or any of the other owners/execs are in. Most people go to see the cool players.
