Nick Mangold not expecting Pats call cause Bill doesn't like him

Eh. If he can help they'd brush that stuff aside.

Andrews seems like a really good guy and he obviously was good enough last year, but I'd love an upgrade at center.

None of this stuff matters. The reason is his alliance with Mangini.

Belichick likes players who stay on the field and can help us win.

If he's willing to bring in Revis he'll bring in anyone. I don't put much stock in this comment, seems like an offhand/jokey type statement.

He's done.

That's most likely why.

He's not a upgrade.

Wow. I love Mangold as a player but that hit was filthy. Belichick has every right to be bullsh.t about it.

They need to start suspending guys who do things with such blatant intent.. that will put an end to it when people are losing game checks for being a thug

To be fair, BB is famous for putting his personal feelings ahead of the good of the team. Ruled by emotion, that man is.
Mazz, is that you?

The first sentence is good sarcasm.
The second sentence is actually true. He's incredibly passionate about football (an emotion), which he channels into his behavior as a coach (emotional intelligence). When you see him with a blank look on his face during a tense moment in a game, he's actually feeling and using a lot of emotion in that moment.

That's part of his genius though. Let's not try to apply this rule to the rest of the world, as if it is a perfect microcosm, though. In football specifically, a strong leader at head coach does wonders. And if you sign players you don't like or cave into the demand of your players, they become the leaders, not you (the coach). The special thing about the Pats is their organization from the top on down, and nothing is worth jeopardizing that. The same is true in the military. Are there some potentially talented/tough/conscientious guys that don't get their shot to be on the front lines? Sure, but by following procedures, risks are avoided that you probably would have never thought about because by always following procedures, they are effectively minimized and unknown to outsiders.

Obviously there is a reason why not one team has signed Mangold this offseason. You'd almost cetainly have to believe his medical is worrisome to most team.

Btw, with all the quotes and articles linked from posters on this site, I've decided that mangold can suck a bag of ****s.

I think BB likes Andrews... another UDFA made good. Guy has obvious leadership traits, reliable on the field, communicates well. He ended Stork's career a few years early. Has he missed a snap since securing the starting job? I can't think of any.

don't need him.....simple as that

Mangold started his dive before Talib had gone out of bounds and that hit was positioned at hip level when he first dove into it. It was unfortunate, but it doesn't look like there was anything dirty about it. Talib should have gotten his ass out bounds and not tap danced on the sidelines.
