16. Jacksonville: Ryan Kerrigan, DE, Purdue
Expect the Jaguars to go the safe route in round one and then take a chance on a QB later in the draft.

17. New England: Cameron Jordan, DE, California
Jordan is an intelligent player who can play a number of spots in a front seven and makes a lot of sense in New England.

18. San Diego: J.J. Watt, DE, Wisconsin
The Chargers need a more consistent presence across from Luis Castillo and Watt could be that guy.

If the Patriots look to draft a DE early, I could see picks 16 - 18 going exactly as so.

28. New England: Danny Watkins, OL, Baylor
The type of tough, NFL-ready body that the Patriots love to plug into their O-line up front.

Just like signing a veteran free agent, Watkins could provide results on day one - question of when day one is: 2011 or 2012?

33. New England: Akeem Ayers, OLB, UCLA

34. Buffalo: Brooks Reed, OLB, Arizona

Please no... I'd rather have Reed.

Many posters would be happy with our DE at 17. Belichick will certainly look to trade down from 28 rather than take Watkins at first round money.

looks ok, not a fan of Watkins age but I can live with it if they switch Reed and Ayers even though Ayers seems more complete.

What's your plan for OG?

Lest we forget:

60. New England: Ryan Williams, RB, Virginia Tech

Watkins might not be available afterwards and the guys in the late 1st round don't make the crazy money the early guys do.

I'd be very excited with Jordan/Watkins/Ayers/Williams. The team would be much better fast.

As I begin to appreciate Jordan's versatility a bit more, I'd be good with him at #17, though I'd still prefer Watt.

I like Watkins a lot, BUT I'd probably be just as happy with Carpenter as an OG/RT in the early/mid 2nd. If none of the "Big Five" OT prospects are still available at #28 (or, if none of them appeals), I'd probably rather trade down into the 2nd for Carpenter plus more ammo for later trades up.

Assuming that Sheard is gone by #33 (and Houston, though he's not a favorite of mine), instead of taking either Ayers or Reed there, and then Williams at #60, I'd rather go for Leshoure at #33 and Acho at #60 - probably equivalent value at OLB (IMVHO), but a far more secure ball-handler at RB (all other aspects being roughly equal).
