NFLPA committee voted for new CBA.

Makes it much easier for Pats/Brady to get a deal done.

It will be easier for lots of deals. There should be a large number of extensions in the next 3 days, extensions that might have been signed by now if there had been a new deal completed.

I believe that the free for all on free agents begins at noon. The facade has been lifted. The deals will likely be announced by the media, with nothing officially signed until WED.

It's a good thing for Pats fans who want TB back, but not so good for the majority of players.
I usually side with players but in this case, I'm happy with the result. Selfish? Maybe. But these ain't workers like me busting their asss trying to pay bills.
So my sympathy is limited.

This assumes that the Patriots are willing to negotiate a fair deal with Brady that is
at least two years in length. I think BB's idea of a fair deal is Brady's current salary
minus his salary cap hit ($23 mil minus $6.75 mil). They might include some near
impossible incentives like being league MVP, Probowl selection, or leading the league
in passing or TD passes. No promises he will be provided with any good WRs or TEs.

Fact is that the deal is good for the non superstars on the roster. They get an immediate
raise for the 2020 season. The deal is not good for players like Aaron Rogers. They don't
like the extra game and want to sit on their ass until late July like Brady.

Anybody see the article in The Athletic about the impact on the players that have been disabled by playing in the NFL? They use Patrick Pass as the entry point to the conversation.

'Bad dream': NFL CBA disability changes under fire for...

A couple of early paragraphs:
Like many of their retired peers, they were distraught by significant, unexpected changes to the disability claims system in the new CBA. While not the only shift, the one that hits home for former players is a deduction from their NFL disability payment of anything they get from Social Security Disability Insurance. That amounts to over $20,000 annually for many of the affected; more than 400 men, some of whom are so incapacitated their wives quit working in order to care for them.

“He couldn’t speak, but he had to lay on me to feel some comfort,” Pass’ wife, Monique, said of the days after the vote. “The morning after, when we woke up, you feel like you’re hoping you’ll wake up from a bad dream. My husband sat up on his side of the bed and he’d looked at the wall and he just kept shaking his head. He’s like, ‘Mo, there’s gonna be a lot of suicides because of this.’ And I said, ‘I know, I know. I just hope something or somehow this gets fixed.’”
