do you think the 2010 schedule is tougher than 2009?
I never said anything about number of wins......
saying next year's schedule is tougher is just as valid as saying that signing bodden was a good thing.....are we supposed to be objective, or are we just supposed to think of beautiful places?
OK. That's a question I can understand.
My answer is simple. The schedule looks tough on paper at this time.
The right comparison is to try to put myself back in March, 2009, and ask myself whether the 2010 schedule looks tougher to me now than the 2009 schedule did at that time, because that is the only relevant comparison.
The division looks just a little tougher this year. The Jets have gotten better, but I think the Bills have gone backwards and the Dolphins are stuck in the water, maybe moving backwards. In 2009, I'd have thought the Dolphins had gotten better, that the Jets were a big unknown w a new HC and QB and that the Bills were probably about the same, despite the addition of TO. But, I'm really not sold on the Sanchize, I think they'll miss Washington, might be a little better with Cromartie if he cleans up his act. But all in all, not enough to change how I'd view the outcome of six games vs. a year ago.
Of the non division teams, we got the Ravens and Colts again. The Ravens are getting better and embarrassed us in the Playoffs; but that could motivate us esp early on in the season. The Colts, though, I think are going to have a rough time next year and we get both the Ravens and Colts at home. So, I have a hard time saying 0--2 there.
Going into last season, JAX and TEN and ATL looked like tough games. Didn't turn out that way. So, will GBP and MIN and CHI be tough? Sure, but who knows how any of those teams will be playing when we meet them. In other words, I'm conceding nothing there, but it could be 0--3 as well as 3--0. I have no freakin' idea this far out.
I was afraid of Denver going into last season and I'm afraid of SDG away this year as well. But it will all depend on "which San Diego" shows up when we play them, just ask the Jests.
Steelers? Lots of uncertainty surrounding Big Ben IMO and they didn't do too well last year. How the heck am I supposed to know how they'll be playing when we meet them.
Lions? Easy to write off, but ya never know. We get em away. Maybe on Thanksgiving. Could be a statement game for them.
Cleveland? Away. Depends on when we play them and how they're coming together. I was more worried about Carolina last year. Still. What do we know now?
Most importantly. New England.
Too soon to tell, but a young team in many areas starting to get it together. Secondary is coming together. Wilfork is in the House and making field leader like noises. Tommy will come into the year with a chip on his shoulder after the Peyton talk cum bust. Welker's a big, big question mark. LB? Pass rush? Another WR? Big question marks, but I'm willing to wait and see how things move.
So, no "beautiful places," but a few bright spots, a few clouds and a long way to go.
Now, you be as specific back to me so I don't feel I wasted my time writing that.
