He was 23 when they cut him last yr...

He is a whopping 24 now.

He was barely even drafted as 32 teams passed on him throughout almost the entire draft. He was then cut last yr, AND this yr. I don't see the Rhodes scholar label necessarily equaling a good sense of football talent, but then again I am not a scout.

You say it's his "age," I say it's his talent.

My mistake. I thought he was older since he'd lost a year with the Rhodes Scholarship. Also, you can claim it's "talent" all you want, but most people thought it was commitment was why he fell. Since he KNOWS that football won't be his only job in life.

Again, just because he was cut, at the end of camp, both years doesn't mean anything. As I said, though he was cut at the end of camp LAST year, he was immediately re-signed to the practice squad. Something that happened to Wendell, Hochstein, Ashworth, etc, on the Patriots. Just because he was "cut" doesn't mean he's BAD. Especially if he get's re-signed to the practice squad.

Pitt cut LB Baraka Atkins. Prototypical size for BB (even a little big) and a college DE and we've had luck with ex-Steeler LBs. They also cut S Macho Harris. I liked him in the draft a couple years ago but I haven't really kept up on his pro career.

BritPat, do you have a source for this? Everything I've found says he's still on their roster. OTOH they did cut 2nd year OG Chris DeGeare, who started several games for them as a rookie.
