New AFC & NFC logos?

Is my computer glitching or did they change the logos for the AFC and NFC? I haven't watched any of the silly schedule shows so I don't know if it was mentioned on one of those... or perhaps already mentioned here in the forum (if I am repeating info, I apologize).

EDIT: OK, well whatever it is, it ain't my computer The NFL.com webpage is definitely showing different logos for the conferences. I just didn't know if it was an official change or just a stylized reproduction. And no, I don't particularly like them.

EDIT 2: It looks like it is official. I apologize for disturbing the group with this, but I honestly hadn't known about it until just now.

You aren't the only one who missed that bit of news, then again it was released as part of the Super Bowl hooplah in February so it had reason to be forgotten quickly... NFL unveils new standard logo for Super Bowl XLV at Cowboys Stadium - ESPN Dallas

Hopefully they don't ignore the old names of the trophies and keep the Halas and Hunt names.

What sucks though...the "A" was an homage to the old AFL logo, minus the eagle. A shame that uniformity had to take precedent over history there

Wow... I knew about the new Super Bowl logo but I knew nothing about all those other changes. I don't give a crap what they do with, like, the training camp or draft day logos, but call me old fashioned because I don't think they should have messed with the Conference Champs trophies.

+1. I mean, why tinker with something that just ain't broke? I actually liked the change to the new NFL logo they did a couple years ago, but these changes were a bad idea.

Seriously though, why did they have to overhaul so much? I don't care so much about the newlogos for draft day, etc. (with the exception of the conference logos and the conference title game logos. really wish they didn't change those). But I don't like the new conference trophies at all. They make me think of some stupid award they give to actors and whatnot, not a trophy symbolzing that you are THE best team in your conference. It looks more a like a trophy you give to someone at the probowl. Ugh....I guess it'll take some getting used to I suppose.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one apparently living under a rock but I really like the new Lamar and Halas! Sleek design which very much ties in with the design of the Lombardi (which God-ell better never mess with). Nice job by Tiffany's!

Ewwwww, those new logos are all ugly. I think I remember reading something about the trophy change. Don't like that either.

you know, this kind of takes away from the aura of the Lombardi Trophy.

if you win your conference, you get the Silver Football.

the Lombardi is really now just a stand, like, "an optional accessory"...instead of the ultimate prize.

think about it. if we got a Silver Football for our season in 2007, it wouldn't hurt as much.

you can always get the stand later.

I really don't like the new Conference trophies. My first impression was "cheap" and "amateur"... they look more appropriate for a college or arena league award.

I see it as Goodell throwing more bones to his New York pals. Tiffany is very much a NY company, being there for almost 200 years now. Just gives me a sense of patronizing of New York area stuff that shouldn't be being done.

But I'd like them to bring back the old trophies. As was said earlier, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".
