Peyton Manning's legacy is cemented.

Aikman is starting apologistpoloza.

Manning is excellent. He studies and performs. Definitely an alltime great.

But - it is worth noting the playoff failures. Even the SB was the year Sanders was lights out at safety and the D carried the way during that run.

There is no questioning his (1) greatness yet (2) his playoff failures...

this will go down as one of the "worst" superbowls ever.

but i loved it, Watching manning, well manninize the superbowl.

World record choke job.

Two of the best offenses in NFL history, two of the best QB'ing seasons in NFL history:

2004: 3 points in the biggest game
2013: 8 points in the biggest game + a pick 6

You can only blame his teammates for so long. It's not just the fact that they barely scored, but you can see how tentative/fearful these teams were once they faced the challenge. They folded like their leader, point blank, no more weak supporting cast and BS excuses for him. Amazing, amazing QB overall but can't ignore the chokes.

What a beautiful game that was.

I wonder if any player in NFL history has ever thrown a pick 6 in three separate Super Bowls? I mean, besides Peyton of course

Manning sets superbowl reception record! Let's take a national poll right now on the greatest QB of all time.

The game wasn't even close enough for Welker to choke in. Manning stole the show in that regard.

Choking would entail that he was in this from the get go. He wasn't. He and his team rolled over and got raped.
Payton was the straw that stirred the drink

I love how the (Manning is so smart he is the teams Offensive
Coordinator as well) talk that disappears after a big game.

Once SEA scored the KR TD to start the 3rd Q to go up 4 (5?) scores, I was like, uh-oh here comes SEA's prevent D (which did manifest to a degree), and allow the ever excuse-at-the-ready Peyton to perfume his up-to-that-point terrible stats enough to fool a few people into believing he had a decent game. Luckily, in the end, this game was such a spectacular pile, even these meaningless deodorizers couldn't mask the stench of this monsterous crap fest! Loved it! :rocker:

Better than Joe Cool? LOL a lot of guys have some crow to eat.

There really was no excuse for those horrible ducks he threw that got picked off. There was no receiver in the area. Take the sack or throw it away...instead he choked

The mediots are and will be in full spin control this week. Peyton was probably suffering some major illness and injury that affected his thought process
