I thought that you were paraphrasing, to humorous effect, the opening sentence of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice.

I don't think he'll get enough carries to reach these numbers. If Michel stays healthy, it'll be a good sign if he doesn't get the carries, because it means the other backs are producing and not injured.
If you watch his college highlights, you see he often gets caught from behind when he breaks into the secondary.
You know the pros are even faster.
He obviously lacks that second gear with those short legs.

This.I like running backs who always get positive yards and average 4-5 yards a carry, rather than the ones who are constantly caught in the backfield but break a long run every now and then and end up with a 4-5 yards a carry average. The latter makes the espn highlights, but usually plays on losing teams. The former sustains drives and helps win games. Sony seemed to be the guy that always gets 4-5 yards. Not flashy, just a good solid back.
Last season I really wanted to like Sony Michel but nothing really seemed to stick out to me about him.
He had:
Pretty good speed.
Pretty good agility.
Pretty good power.
Pretty good acceleration.
Pretty good hands.
Pretty good at breaking tackles.
How was this guy doing much better than just pretty good?
Answer: Exceptional vision.
He always seems to take the most efficient and optimal path to get the most amount of yardage given his physical ability. Here's a great video to see if you agree.

Often caught from behind...
Short legs..
Pros are faster...
Lacks second gear..
We might as well cut him now and spare you the agony of having to watch him. I'm sure no one will pick him up.
I would expect him to get the same amount of carries as he did last year. Same efficiency and staying healthy equals 1,200+ yards and 10+ TDs
I don't know how many negative carries he had. But it seemed like he always gets at least 1-2 yards each carry.
Just think what we could have done last year if we had had a serviceable back.Often caught from behind...
