1. The pick value you get in return is terrible. You trade out of the first half of the 1st round (thereby killing any possibility of 6 year deal), and you only get back a future 2nd rounder (equal to a 3rd rounder in this year's draft) and a fifth round pick (which is worthless)!? Wow. When did BB tape a "RAPE ME" sign to his back?

2. Jerod Mayo at pick #17 is TERRIBLE. 1. This guy should be a second round pick at best. 2. You don't draft INSIDE linebackers in round 1 unless their name is Brian Urlacher or Patrick Willis. What on earth makes you think Mayo is as good as a Patrick Willis?

Those are the main problems with this draft scenario. You get crap value in return and your first round pick is a horrible reach. Your other picks I don't have so much of a problem with.

As I mentioned just a few posts above I was not really clear on the all the points value and such. I was more going for a certain player at a certain area. I disagree with you on Mayo, but really neither of us knows until next year or beyond. Thanks for the comments.

why is everyone so high on this antoine cason kid? i saw video of him and he looks like another asante samuel. i want a SHUTDOWN corner.

You aren't going to GET a shut-down corner. Sorry. There aren't any.

Cason is a damn good prospect who is BETTER than Asante in that Cason actually tackles instead of just trying to hit the person.

Lofton is not really that slow. Ran a 4.67 at his ProDay (4.77 at the combine)....that's not fast by any stretch but it's not slow. For comparison sake Goff ran a 4.63, and Mayo ran a 4.54 (3rd fastest of the LB's in the combine) But I think Loftons instincts make him play a little faster than 4.67. I agree though he is only average in coverage, but with a little work I think he could be a total stud. I like Goff too though.

Its not just about the 40 number. Look at how horrible his change of direction numbers are. There are O-linemen who change directions better than Lofton.

here is a quote from nfldraftscout.com

"04/08/08 - 2008 Rang's Gang: ILB - Curtis Lofton, Oklahoma: I admit it. I'm a sucker for instinctive middle linebackers with explosive hitting ability. Lofton is exactly that. He only has one starting season under his belt and Oklahoma's history of producing over-hyped collegiate stars with limited NFL production (with the exception of Tommie Harris) is a bit disconcerting. Slower than expected times at the Combine (4.77) don't worry me in the slightest due to Lofton's instincts and combination of hand play and lateral quickness in sifting through blocks. He gets to the ball carrier quickly and brings the pain when he arrives, as evidenced by his 157 tackles -- the most by any defender of the Bob Stoops era -- and his four forced fumbles. I was higher on Lofa Tatupu and DeMeco Ryans than most and am again with this kid. I see Lofton as having an immediate impact at the next level and quite possibly posting better career numbers than several of the linebackers drafted ahead of him. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com"

While I respect Rob Rang, I don't see using a 2nd round pick on a guy who is clearly only a 2 down LBer. Lofton is a liability against the pass. Worse than Bruschi or Vrabel, IMHO. Also, Rang had THIS to say:" [FONT=Verdana,Geneva,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif][SIZE=-2]Has decent wrap-up technique, but is better as a collision-type, drag-down tackler due to his upper-body strength ". You know what BB says? "Don't give me a defensive player who can't tackle. What am I going to do with him."

To say that Lofton can't tackle is just nuts. He recorded 157 tackles last year on his way to big 12 defensive player of the year. I agree he needs some work in the passing game, but he is a very solid prospect imo.
