I don't think they spent much time or money on that commercial.

I agree, they could have spiced it up a bit with the plane full of passengers and everbody cheering when Gronk got up to dance. Have the reason Gronk is dancing is to entertain the passengers due to a flight delay.
 
I assume that Gronk made that commercial because of some very, very, very fine print in his Contract that says he has to do stupid stuff if the Patriots organization asks him to do a promotion for one of their "Official Sponsors." If not, he should fire his Agent.
 
Read somewhere that Gronk has never spent any of the money he has made from his contract, and lives solely from his commercials... puts everything in perspective.

My thoughts start:
  • It's just a local commercial. So they didn't have a lot of budget.
  • In particular, they probably paid Gronk a very low fee by his standards, and as a result didn't get much of his time. Maybe the fee was even zero, as some kind of favor to his uncle.
  • Given that, it's STILL bad. There was considerable dead time in the conversation with his uncle.
