Yeah the Patriots need impact players. Not 13 picks when 4-5 wont even make team. I hate to say it but while this team will make the playoffs. They r done as a contender as currently constructed. Nobody is willing to take a paycut to come here nemore. I am annoyed.

In fact, losing out on an additional year of cheap service, trading down may cost salary money?

Not that it matters; the Pats spend to the cap every year (uncapped years of course excepted).

Judge their cheapness or lack thereof by whether they redo Brady's contract and frontload it bigtime. If they do frontload it into the uncapped year by a few million dollars, they're not cheap.

Again, we already had Chad Jackson. Why would we want a more talented version of Jackson? Bryant's biggest knock is that they had to pare down the playbook for him (Chad Jackson anyone?!?). He is a good fit for the Cowboys because they do not have a complicated playbook, but not a great fit for the Pats.

FYI, the money between 22 & 27 is minimal. They are still in front of the Fins & the Jets, and still picked 2+ picks.
