seems the team usually loses an OL man to mental fatigue during the dog days, when they are on the tail end of their careers.
hoping Schweitzer was this years, and seeing as he left early, everyone otherwise sticks around and is healthy

of course, there are always those OL men that lose out to mental fatigue, but still hang around. Chuks, Wynn, Trent Brown

honestly I am only expecting average play at best from Moses, which can still be ok. I am disappointed that Wallace is not getting run as the RT option plan B if Moses cannot go. I thought he offered more upside than Jacobs does. Bryant appears to be a project that will take some time.
perhaps the plan is for Lowe to be back soon and contribute?

it appears the team is at the least willing to entertain an all rookie left side. in that case I assume Strange is the primary IOL back up as he might be able to play OC, where as Sow cannot.

would be huge if both Campbell and Wilson play well and Bradbury is healthy.

Wallace, Strange, Lowe Jacobs would be very nice depth, with Brown, Robinson and Conley on the PS
Based on the last few years I think a majority of us would be ecstatic with average line play.

I thought we started last season with average line play with Andrews, Onwenu, Lowe healthy.
poor scheme. poor qb play.
as players injured, line play deteriorated, and the scheme never got better. Maye's mobility helped, but line play still sub par

What?? A Guy who did 10 on the Bench press stoned Barmore twice?? Blasphemy.

Time to bring in George Fant? He’s clearly an emergency option. He is 33; however, that is younger than Ole Man Moses.

Starting Demontrey Jacobs at RT should give you the heebies and the jeebies.

Jacobs at Right Tackle scares me.
Marrone might have done a Scar on him. It's said Jacobs have the physical tools to succeed @ Tackle - size long arms and all. Maybe Marrone have unlocked him. Really thought C Wallace have the making of a RT but he's been working Exclusively @ LG. Maybe he's pulling a Mekhi Becton... Tackle who made the complete switch to Guard.

Moses had that meniscus injury last year and was on the injury list every week after that for the knee. The guy has a history of playing thru injury. I expect him to start in game 1 and will be ready to go.
Jacobs as a backup is a bit scary but maybe if and when Lowe comes back maybe Lowe can backup the right side as well like he did in 2023. At least we'd go from terrible to below average.
With Marcus Bryant seemingly looking solid as a backup at LT and unlikely to be switched to RT, might be room for only one of Jacobs/Lowe.

Many of last year's starters might not even make the team.
Here are the top snaps for Oline in 2024:
Onwenu-He's a lock, the only true lock from the holdovers
Jacobs-Looks like RT backup but either him or Lowe could be gone and maybe both if someone better is cut by another team
Lowe-Bryant likely taking backup LT so if he ever comes off PUP is a going to need to beat Jacobs for RT
Jordan-Gone
Ben Brown-Looks on the outs with Bradbury and Wilson
Robinson-Looks practice squad or cut

Wallace is next at just 129 snaps last year and he's no guarantee either.

Really a complete overhaul of the line, hopefully the upgrade is a big one.
My only nitpick is Wallace. I would think that he can be at least the #10 OL. While I strongly support the cross-training, I expect that Wallace can be coached up to be the #3 RT, after Moses and Lowe. He had two injuries last year, and he has some talent; so, I give him a pass.

Wilson is looking much better as of late

Bradbury's injury doesn't sound serious - but I have more concerns about C this season than LT, and worry that will be the line of attack for Ds.

Which is dumb.

3/3/91 is MM’s birthday. He spent last season avoiding practice and in a hyperbaric chamber.

Can he even make it through the season? And he’s backed up by Long Arm Concrete Shoes Demontrey and NoSir Durant?

WTF.

Sow at LG and Wallace at RT. Come on, Marrone! You hoser!

NoSir Durant.

Not a real big fan of seeing that happen, especially in front of a QB who's fairly green himself.

Durant was cut yesterday or earlier today.

I don’t understand RT. The Patriots rolling the dice with Moses and the execrable Demontrey Jacobs? ( It’s obvious that Caeden Wallace to LG means he’s an OT bust.) Must be scheming to bring in another body. Trade Ja’Lynn Polk to the Jets for Carter Warren? Something. Anything.

Jacobs is one of the more physically gifted tackles on the team. He needed to get stronger leaving college. That being said he didn’t play well last year, but the team was also a rudderless mess.

If Doug Marrone can teach him to play with his feet they could have a surprise starter if Moses gets hurt: He can also shift over and play some left side, if nothing else they might find a great backup swing tackle. Marcus Bryant is also another pretty talented rookie tackle… they’re in a substantially better position than last year.

There’s not a single team in the NFL right now who doesn’t have question marks or doesn’t need young talent to develop and contribute. There’s only one Eagles… and even they have some holes to fill.

Jacobs played all of 2023 with the Broncos and 2024 with the Pats. Two off seasons and this is Jacobs 3rd training camp so he is on the clock. Athletic guy and I hope he makes the transition. Tall guy with long arms, more of a traditional tackle.
