What's funny is every other team with that kind of cap room is either expected to bring back its top free agents or sign a big name to fill in a glaring hole.

Not the Patriots. They'll cut Dillon, Bruschi will retire, Graham and Samuel will walk, they will be replaced with street free agents, the draft will be focused on offense again, and Krafft will sit on a $26 million cap surplus.

i have a lot of trouble watching clayton. i always think of some guy in accounting who "doesn't get out much" whenever I look at him.

but, when he say's the pats are gambling with the roster, that's not much different from saying that the patriots are betting that the system that got them three rings will continue to work. i think that's a pretty good way of describing what management did last year in the cases of branch, et al, and what they will doubtless do this year with graham and samuel.

sure, his comment that 12 wins is impossible but 11 is within reach, or whatever he said, is just silly. but, all in all, i don't think what he's saying is otherwise that nonsensical. if he didn't look like a complete doofus, it would probably help me listen more to what he says.

How does someone like him get to be on TV and talk about sports?
I can read better analysis from some of you guys on this board.
And he gets paid to do this!
