In regards to Ben Volin's report (speculation?) regarding Mike Lombardi: I obviously don't know for a fact, but of all the reporters covering the Patriots, he doesn't come across as the person who would be fed exclusive information from somebody within the Pats organization.

More importantly, the idea that Belichick wanted to keep Lombardi but was overruled doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Since when did BB no longer have final say on decision on football-related issues in Foxborough?

As far as suggesting the New England trade for Knile Davis, forget it. Seven career fumbles in very limited playing time in three years eliminates him from being signed as a free agent, never mind trading away a draft pick for.

Well said, jmt. I couldn't agree more with your assessment. Another "making it up as you go along" story by Volin, and another reason why he'll never have any legitimate sources down at Foxboro. Bottom line here, (as you noted), if you have BB in your corner.....you win. That is a clear indication why his story is BS.

Also why is it that HE is the only one with this take, when all the beat writers, who HAVE legitimate sources, disagree. NOTHING Volin writes should be trusted, and thus never read. I suggest that Ian remove his social media account from those that run at the top of the page. I mean why give a forum to someone who clearly lies for a living. And this isn't the first time he's proven that his stories can't be trusted
